    Clay Pad causing Scratches!?!?!?!?!?!?

I have a special brush I use only for cleaning the clay pad and I use plenty of lube when doing so. When I typically clay a car I clean the pad around 3-6 times per car. I also only clay pad by hand and yes I only use nano skin clay pads from auto geek.

    Scratches

My dad has a 71 GTO I'm pretty sure I am going to have this same issue.. It has been repainted and you can see the deep sand marks. I will see if I can get some pics of the car and post up. Pretty sure it's a single stage paint still with the repainted but who knows. If it's single stage paint...

    Clay Pad causing Scratches!?!?!?!?!?!?

OK, so I had some time this evening to play around with my clay pad and clay towel... First I tired the clay towel as it is for light contaminates. Sprayed pretty heavy with the clay lube to make sure the paint was well lubricated. After a few passes like I would normally be doing on a car I...

    Clay Pad causing Scratches!?!?!?!?!?!?

Yes the nano skin pads I am talking about. As far as something getting trapped between the pad and paint on the car I work By hand with the pads like on you would with a traditional clay bar. However I am constantly checking the pad and cleaning the pad quite often threw out the claying...

    Clay Pad causing Scratches!?!?!?!?!?!?

I do happen to have a clay towel I know is a bit less aggressive... So I may have to do a test with the both of those... Just curious why you use only the traditional clay bars? Have you tried or tested out the new clay pads?

    Clay Pad causing Scratches!?!?!?!?!?!?

Thanks for the input but it was more than marring looked like scratches. But I will have to do a test on the Viper this next weekend and will report back. May even do a video on the issue.... On a side note you think I would have any better luck using the traditional clay bar?

    Clay Pad causing Scratches!?!?!?!?!?!?

The clay pad has been used several times before this. It was not a new pad but it was however still in good shape. And anytime I detail a car I clay the windows as well.

    Clay Pad causing Scratches!?!?!?!?!?!?

Good to know. So how do you get around this issues when claying the paint on a porsche or any car with soft paint for that matter? On my Viper not the one in the pic but my 09' The paint is stupid soft on it. Have yet to try a clay pad on it but I know someday I will have to.

    Clay Pad causing Scratches!?!?!?!?!?!?

Well the other day was claying a car with one of the clay pads I got from autogeek. It was a black car and I noticed when claying the paint it looked as if it was putting scratches in the paint. I typically clay in straight lines and after doing a section the paint looked like I had put in some...

    The Eagle...errrr....FLEX PE8 has LANDED!

Got mine in the mail today... First impressions..... Do not like the power switch on the side. Remind me of the old Generation GG6 polisher I had and hated it being on the side. Needs to be on top for better control and easier to access. Very poor design as for that part goes. Not well...
