Disappointed in Rupes pads- input needed please

There is a known compatibility issue with the green foam and FG400 and directly relates to the solvent content of that particular compound (which apparently is rather heavy). Switch to a water based or low solvent compound and the issue will be non existent. In any event sorry to hear you had...

    Revisited Rupes UHS system

Once you get used to the foam UHS can be a real winner, especially in a production detailing environment where you need improvement in a hurry. Its personally my favorite polish and I follow with Keramik and a yellow pad if/when refinement is needed.

The Next REVOLUTION: The BigFoot Nano w/ iBrid Technology

To update everyone - the very first units began finding there way to distributors in the US late last week. The first allotment was very small, but the good news is that a larger shipment arrived and cleared customs yesterday so more will be right behind these. The launch for the Nano was...

Rupes LHR 21 Mark II =>VS LHR 15 Mark II Which one to get?

For detailing my default recommendation is the LHR15II... the 15 packs a lot of punch and the slightly smaller orbit allows for some more versatile applications. It also ramps up the max opm and torque to close the gap on the 21 in terms of correcting power.

    Rupes bigfood nano or 75e??

Joe is correct - its really not an 'either / or' type of decision. The Nano can do most of what the mini can do, but the mini can't do everything the nano can.

    Worth upgrading?

The better way to probably phrase this: Do you find yourself using your LHR21ES and wishing it had more power? Do you find it difficult to maintain pad rotation while you're working? If you answer "yes" to those questions it would be worthwhile to upgrade to the Mark II.

Pictures: RUPES Detailing Class at Autogeek - 1948 Chevy Fleetmaster Streetrod

Well done Mike and team - you guys did that red beauty some serious good. I hope the 606 and 808 were well received... doesn't get much easier than P808 when it comes to sealing up that gloss.

    Rupes ta50 regulator

Just pulled in 2 units from the warehouse and couldn't recreate the fitment issue. The pic below is simply hand tight, but I could put a wrench on any of the connections and easily snug down, no threads were binding, no compatibility issues. Anyone who has experienced an issue with a TA50...

    Picking the right Rupes pads

I'll let others chime in, but working with them as often as I do I rely most heavily on the blue for heavy cutting/correcting - the crazy thing is that despite its feel it finishes down very cleanly. I also use the UHS foam with UHS compound quite frequently, as a matter of fact I used that...

PADS: Is there really a discernible difference between Rupes WHITE and YELLOW finishing ability?

In general I finish with the yellow, for most paints and the goals I have it produces the results needed. I really only reach for the white when I'm dealing with finicky paint that the yellow doesn't finish clean on, I would honestly categorize it as a specialty pad that you won't use often, but...

    Rupes ta50 regulator

Sorry to hear about this, and I also apologize for my general ignorance of the problem - I've requested a random batch of the TA50's be transferred over to my office today. Once I get them I'll open them up and see if I have the same problem. In any event we'll get to the bottom of it. The...

    Rupes Support?

The basics like cords, carbon brushes, etc are pretty easy if you've got even a tiny bit of DIY handiness in your blood and all the parts are available for purchase either thru distributors or our facility here in Colorado.

RUPES Sealant, Detailer, Maintenance Wash & Carnauba Wash *NEW*

Glad you picked up on these things when trying them out Nick. The Rapid Cleaner Detailer certainly is a departure from the candy shop fragrances and technicolor schemes of what we are used to here in the US, but the team approached the development from a no-nonsense standpoint figuring that if...

    Rupes Support?

We can service the tool for you here in our Colorado facility, full factory level repair and build capability in house. Of course there are other options that are great like BuffDaddy if hes more geographically desirable. Either way you can get your tool serviced at a number of places. Really...

Rupes LHR 15 Legacy or Mark II

Again - depends on the user and the application. If you have a 15ES and dont' find yourself needing more power then the question pretty much answers itself. If you struggle with pad rotation in some situations, do a lot of detailing, or just want more power then the Mark II is an upgrade worth...

Rupes LHR 15 Legacy or Mark II

Rasky definitely covered it well. I think you could get an LHR15ES and be perfectly happy. Its a great tool that features impeccable balance and will be a great solution, especially if its just for your personal use and you're not correcting paint as a career. When you spend the extra $100 and...

What are the REAL benefits of a long throw polisher?

For the time being they're not going anywhere. The LHR15ES and LHR21ES are here to stay and are still in production... makes them both a great way for a beginner or more budget conscious person to dip their toes in the BigFoot water.

Awesome. Glad to hear you're enjoying it.

Disappointed in Rupes pads- input needed please

Thats certainly the most unusual pad failure I've ever seen. Like anything theres always some chance its simply a defective pad, but with foam deterioration on this level it would be unlikely. Pads are cut from large buns of common foam, so it would mean we'd see similar/identical catasrophic...

    rupes mark II

Looks like a nice excuse to make the 3 hour drive across FL over to Autogeek to try it out there :) We have a couple of distributors that are closer to you, but out of respect for the fact that this is PBMG's forum I won't make those recommendations here. Shoot me an email off the forum and...
