    question about car polishers?

that's a SWEEET looking '57 and once you get the shine back to that paint it will be beautiful! I'm looking forward to seeing your review of the Flex 3401. I love mine but never used the PC or other units to actually compare

    Tried A Leaf Blower Today

sorry, I'll disagree, a leaf blower CAN be a complete means of drying a vehicle and I know because I'm doing it on a daily basis. After COMPLETELY drying the vehicle with the blower I simply move on to my next step whether it's claying, or polishing, or applying LSP or whatever that vehicles...

    question about car polishers?

Depends on the type of buffer. A rotary buffer has a higher learning curve to it and takes more practice to get good with. It's generally more powerful and has higher speeds than a DA (Dual Action) buffer and it's much easier to damage or harm the paint if you don't know what you are doing or...

Using a Cleanser to Clean Tires

Megs APC+ here (typically at 4:1) and a good tire brush. I let the APC+ sit in the tires for a few minutes to let it do it's work than scrub the tire with the brush and rinse it off. comes out perfect and very clean all ready for your dressing of choice

    chrome wheel care?

I would first clean them thoroughly than simply apply a good coat of wax. Than to maintain them keep them cleaned as often as needed and every couple months re-apply the wax to keep the protection up. In fact, with your regular cleanings of the wheels an application of a good spray wax as a...

    Ceramic/Hard clear: PB V.s Menzerna

that's my point, there are lots of high quality products out there, many of which will work and do a very good job on harder clearcoat finishes. Menzerna is not the ONLY product out there that will work as was being stated in the first post. This is the point I've been trying to make in this...

    Ceramic/Hard clear: PB V.s Menzerna

no, this is not turning into a Megs vs Menzerna debate. You originally stated that you read on the internet that the Menzerna was the ONLY product that would work on the newer hard clearcoat systems. I used the Megs as one example to disprove that false information. Both the Menzerna and the...

    Ceramic/Hard clear: PB V.s Menzerna

The ONLY?? oh please give me a break. Believe that and I've got a lovely bridge you may be interested in... I've had excellent success with the Megs M105/M205 combo on cars with very hard clear coats. In fact, the M105 is definitely more aggressive than the Menzerna. Don't get me wrong, I'm...

what wax for atomic orange(metallic) corvette z06?

I'll throw in my vote for Megs #26. always gives me a great gloss and shine. In fact, on my '65 Corvette show car I usually have M21 topped with #26. Sorry for not having better quality pics but as you can see in the paint reflection it was a very overcast day - not the best for trying to show...

    Bug Removal

for what it's worth, i use the Megs Body Solvent for bug removal and one of those yellow bug removal sponges from AG. I spray the Body Solvent on, let it sit for 5-10 minutes as get everything prepared to wash the car and than usually also let itsit while i' working on the wheels. by the time...

    Bug Removal

baking soda is abrasive enough when dry that it's used as a blasting medium to strip paint off cars, and to clean and strip paint off parts before repainting. I know of many people that used baking soda to strip the paint off their corvettes before repainting them going by the assumption that...

    interesting job coming soon

Mike, with my experience with classic cars and single stage paint, I so much prefer the looks of really good single stage paint job of lacquer (the older original style lacquer with the lead in it, not the newer reformulated crap they pass of as lacquer after they removed the lead) or enamel...

    interesting job coming soon

I'd take an older 930 Turbo like this customer's car or your friends car over most of the newer / current Porsche's. A lot of the reason is simple - in their day these were THE hot performance car on the market. In '78 I was just about to start high school and i remember the 930 turbo's as one...

    interesting job coming soon

had a customer bring in a car yesterday for an estimate and to see what I can do to make it look better. car is a '78 Porsche 930 Turbo. It's been used hard during it's life and approx 1/2 - 3/4 of the car has had body repairs and repaints (too may "incidents" during fun track days I believe)...

    what do you think?

Re: nice A couple of observations: first of all. $100 for a interior/exterior detail is WAY too low. I charge $160 to $225 for that service and am seriously considering raising my pricing. The price varies depending on size/type of vehicle - for example the $160 is for a SMALL 2 seater car...

    carpet & upholstery brushes?

the kind that attached via hook & loop or the PC type that replaces and attaches via the spindle?

    carpet & upholstery brushes?

hmmmm, i'll look into these but i'm not so sure how well they will actually stay on the backing plate with the additional friction of running them over carpet. hook & lop backing plates are fine with foam pads with polish, wax, etc on smooth paint but against carpet i question how secure they...

    carpet & upholstery brushes?

sigh... that's a shame that's there is nothing available as carpet brushes for the Flex. i LOVE how well my Flex 3401 works on the paint and it would be nice to have use of it and it's power to help clean the carpets and mats also.

    carpet & upholstery brushes?

I know AG sells carpet & upholstery brushes for the PC 7424 and i was wondering if anyone makes anything similar for the Flex 3401? I'm assuming that the brushes that are available for the PC unit are not compatible with the Flex...
