    Airplane detailing

I didn't realize this thread is a year old already! What about insurance? I know detailing cars you need liability and perhaps garaging insurance, but what about aircraft insurance? After all some planes may be worth more than some third-world country's GDP. I expect most aircraft are detailed...

    Bought a van!!

Nice van! Take good care of it and it should last you many years. A friend of mine has the Safari version and it has turned over more than 240K miles. These vans use a fiberglass leaf spring in the rear. You might want to upgrade to a steel spring for added capacity.

Awesome job, Mike! Would you remove the emblems on the trunk lid to get behind them or use a different technique to polish the small, tight areas? Thanks.

    I love dealerships

Should have said "half-price" and maybe negotiate down to "quarter-price". I think you might have left some meat on the table. I hate when that happens.

    Headlight restoration business

Has anybody used Dr Headlight? They offer a 4-year guarantee if headlight lenses fade again, they'll replace the lenses with OEM parts at no cost to the customer. Apparently they use an epoxy based solution that permeates the lens and is not *just* a top-coat. They also offer a Dr Headlight...

    Headlight restoration business

I would like to know how many of you are focusing on headlight restoration as a primary source of business? It seems to me that any car that's on the road, whether it's a $500 car or $75,000+ car, needs clear headlights. That makes any of a car with degraded headlight lenses a possible client...

    Headlight Repair

I've gotten the best results from Symtech's Bright Solutions kits. I've tried the Diamondite kit, but revered to using Symtech's products for headlights that are severely degraded. Good luck.

Customers want to pay you more?

I came across this article on the New York Times stating if you provide a good product or service, you should not be afraid to charge a higher rate. Customers frequently tie quality with how much is being charged. "... a [customer] who told her she was doing a great job, but would not be taken...

    Generator how many watts?

In most cases, a 2KW generator should do fine. The Honda EU units are highly recommended (very quiet, clean 120 VAC, etc.) even at their higher price compared to the contractor grade generators. Here's a previous thread on the same subject.

    Vacuums?

Most vacuum HP ratings are misleading. They say "peak HP" instead of average (or RMS) HP which is where most motors operate. On a 120v 20a circuit you will have 2400 watts available, which is typically found in most homes in the US. 1 HP is about 745 watts which limits us to 3.2 HP available at...

    Post your favorite Glass Cleaner??

:dblthumb2::dblthumb2::dblthumb2: Everything else I've used has been a total disappointment. I've discovered technique helps too. I use a MF towel that's damp with ONR solution, wipe twice in alternate directions (left-to-right, then up-down) and follow up with a dry MF towel drying in the same...
