the rubber tops on foot controls and running boards for HDs are usually pretty filthy and worn, they come out really well when i use water, and APC like simple green and a tooth brush, now a foot control is no floor mat, i wouldn't scrub a floor mat with a tooth brush, but it leave it bright...

cool find.....i think the linseed oil is a good temp thing to use, clean it best you can and coat it well can you keep em in a nice dry place, out of the elements? or covered? might be a good idea if you want to mitigate further rusting

for me, CanCoat was great stuff, two coats, and you have a pretty stout LSP i'm considering trying a combination of CanCoat for the protection topped with AP's High Gloss for the reflectiveness it brings
