I have never owned a black car. I have however had a couple that have owned me. My most recent was a black on black C7 corvette that I daily drove as well. I did have a garage, but as everyone else has pointed out it will get dirty almost immediately. Looks absolutely stunning as soon as you...
Need some input for the gurus. I have a 2018 Audi Q7. Door is black soft touch plastic. My older daughter decided to sleep against the door on a road trip and got a good sized make up stain. Have tried APC, water, etc to no avail. Any suggestions is appreciated.
Hey everyone, hoping to get some recommendations. Got a new 2018 Audi Q7 for the wife. It has the luxury package which includes upgraded leather and alcantera headliner. Any suggestions for products to keep this very nice leather clean and safe? Is it really any different from a maintenance...
Paint is decent. Not autogeek awesome. Minor swirls (black 2016 corvette that's a near daily driver [emoji57] so my expectations are in that mindset). Car is less than 1 year old.
So just scoop onto pad with old CC/plastic putty knife? Do I need to spread it out on pad? Is there a desirable amount to put on? (Quarter size? Half a can? Etc). Thanks.
Since I understand that cleaner waxes need to be worked in to be effective, is it possible/recommended to apply a paste cleaner was (Meguiars specifically) with a DA polisher? Any tips on how to most effectively do that?
Well, I done did it. Thanks to everyone's advice here, I just placed my order for LC 5" backing plate, 6-pack LC pads, and 32oz HD speed (cause more is better, right [emoji6]). Now, does anyone have any tips on cleaning pads in between sessions?
Thank you all for the replies. I think ultimately a good backing plate and set of quality pads will be in order. And it seems like the route to go with a daily driver is HD speed (or similar). Gonna keep digesting info here. Appreciate all your help and suggestions.
I'm afraid I'm going to break down shortly here and buy a DA polisher (I really need to stop reading this forum). Since I'm a weekend DIYer, I'm just going to go with the harbor freight DA. Does anyone use the pads from harbor freight? They have the 3 different ones and was just wondering what...
The question was meant to be a little ridiculous. Sort of a mental exercise type thing. I thought of it because I was watching some videos of people using different dilutions of ONR to do the interior. It made me wonder what was the most versatile product people have found.
Thanks for all the tips. I didn't realize you needed to treat it more like a compound/polish. My understanding was that it was more of a chemical cleaner as opposed to abrasive.
I did not clay prior to, but had clayed the car about 2 months ago
I guess I'm gonna have to break down and buy a...
Essentially correct. I would say that my overlapping application was a little more working in than just applying a liquid wax. If I had to estimate, I'd say every part of the car was touched by the pad 3-4 times by tight overlaps. But I did not come back to a section once applied. Does that make...
By hand with moderate pressure (flat fingers not tips) using supplied foam pad. Overlapping circles applying thin and uniform. Only one pass per section to apply in described manner then wait and remove with MF towels.
