2012 Honda CRV Inside and Out Restoration

That’s quite the turnaround! I’d say you rolled it back a few years. A few things of note: (1) Did you do anything to the headlights? They look clearer in the after pics. (2) Did you clean the pedals or are they just stained? They looked brown in your after pic of the driver’s side footwell...

The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Took this one the other night. Washed with Blackfire Foam Soap, protected with McKee’s 37 Hydro Blue, topped with Meguiar’s Ultimate Quik Wax. Tires and wheels cleaned with McKee’s 37 392 Wheel and Tire Cleaner, dressed with Griot’s Garage Black Satin tire shine.

    Underrated products...

Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound Been around for a while, and I always keep some on hand. Great by hand for light defect removal, and can do some excellent defect removal while finishing down LSP ready when paired with an orange cutting pad on the DA. What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Did a winter prep on my mom’s 2018 Honda CR-V. Basic interior, wheels and tires, engine bay spruce up, wash, decon, clay, Blackfire One Step followed by Blackfire Paint Sealant. Also did the plastic trim and re-coated the windshield with McKee’s 37 Glass Coating.

    Drying towels

I like the Gauntlet drying towels from The Rag Company and the Glacier 1100 drying towels from McKee’s 37. I just ordered a Griot’s Garage PFM drying towel during the Cyber Monday sale, so will be curious to try that out.

    Interior cleaner protectant

I presume you are looking for a “quick detailer” type of product that can be used as frequently as you would like, as opposed to a dedicated interior “protectant.” There are plenty of options available. Griot’s Garage Interior Detailer is an excellent choice and is readily available at your...

    "The Carini Collection"

Well Wayne Carini does own McKee’s 37 along with Bob McKee and Nick Rutter. If you recall, Bob was the guy who started PBMG, the parent company of Pinnacle, Wolfgang, Blackfire, Detailer’s Pride (which later became Detailer’s Pro Series), Marine 31, and Pinnacle Black Label. He sold the whole...

    Optimum Car Wash - Review

Maybe you have hard water? I’ve used a couple gallons of Optimum Car Wash over the years and never experienced anything like what you have. Maybe you could add a couple ounces of rinseless wash to your wash bucket to act as a water softener and see if that helps any.

    Favorite Car Song?

Back in the 1980s, Oldsmobile had this song that they included on a cassette tape with the sale of a new car. Since my first car was a 1995 Olds Cutlass Ciera SL, I guess I have a bit of an odd soft spot for it. Oldsmobile commercial from 1983 Oldsmobile Commercial from 1983 - YouTube Better...

Not how I wanted my weekend to start

Ugh. Been there. I had an accident on June 4th in which I accidentally rear ended a Chevy Tahoe in stop and go traffic and wrecked my 2016 Honda Civic. Steering wheel airbag deployed. More damage to my car I think than his, as my front end went under his trailer hitch. Roughly $8800 in damages...

Bought a 2021 Accord Touring and sealed her up!

Very nice! I bought a 2021 Civic Hatch back in June. This is my third Civic. Almost went for the Accord but the price was a bit high. Would have loved to have gotten a 2.0 Sport.

Detail Fest 2019 - BIG NEWS!

I hate to be a party pooper, but I miss the old Autogeek. While I am still a loyal customer, it just isn’t the same anymore. It used to be about that one on one type of place where you felt like you really knew the people you were doing business with and got to share your passion with your...

    Your favorite Car Wash Soap

Optimum Car Wash for me. It checks all the boxes. * Price ($29.99 for a gallon) * Smell (smells like blueberries) * Suds (they last forever - no worries about going flat) * Cleaning ability (I’ve even been able to remove light tar with this soap) * Rinses easily * No soap scum if it dries on...
