I polished my hood the other day to remove some marring and just for fun I stuck 2 coats of Dodo Juice Hard Candy on it. I thought that made it pop pretty well.

I've worked at both a Honda and Kia dealer over the past 8 years (same company), and in my experience, neither the dealer nor customers care how you get their car clean just so long as it's "clean." Trust me on this - you could honestly be using oven cleaner and your grandma's underwear to wash...

(2) Did you clay or decontaminate the car at all?
(3) What did you use for an LSP?

I used to have one and it quit working on me - turns out it was a power cord failure. If you are handyman-minded you might be able to fix it.
