Mike, what plus would there be to polishing the glass with a product such as the Pinnacle Glasswork vs. claying? Would it be just be to get the more etched in water spots? Or would this method clean better than a clay alone even without having to deal with water spots ?

I don't think anyone would be able to tell you without laying hands on the car. Maybe wax stuck in some chemical etching, rock chips, alien laser testing spots... Do an IPA rub down and see if they go away.

I've owned multiple convertibles both vinyl and fabric and Ragtopp is the way to go. I've also taken a liking to Chemical Guys Fabric Guard for my fabric tops. Doesn't have the staying power as the Ragtopp stuff, but is good for the money and in between the twice yearly "good stuff" treatment.

I tried the double boiler thing with some NXT 2.0 and Meg's cleaner wax a couple of months ago. It seems to work just fine, but beware, it will make one heck of a mess. Might want to acquire some junky thrift store pots to try it with.

Amazing results! I've got an '05 Mazdaspeed Miata and would love to have results like this when done polishing it up.

I've used it on 3 of my cars so far. All 3 were a metal flake from Mazda and it really made them pop. Easy on, easy off. Seems to have a decent life to it when left in the elements. I normally top it with Black Light or Butterwax.
