Is There A Downside to Compound??

Im using a Meguiars G110 DA, and I have the same Meguiars pads intended for the polisher. Burgundy cutting pad, the yellow polishing pad, and the off white finishing pad. I WAS gonna use the compound on the cutting pad, but I may go with the swirl remover first and see if that fixes the blems...

Is There A Downside to Compound??

Ive just finished claying my own personal truck, which is an 04 SVT Lightning. The paint is in good shape in my opinion, but I can definitely see some hard water spots and lots of scratches and some swirling/spider webs. My color (DSG aka Dark Shadow Gray) hides everything very well and looks...

    Is this pad done?

This pad is/was a yellow Meguiars pad… Im applying Meg's #105 cutting compound. I will be going to Meg's #205 next. Honestly Im not sure if I should go with a yellow pad again or a white pad. Ive also got a black, burgundy, and a few orange pads as well.

    Is this pad done?

Ok, thanks. Ive been kinda doing the compressed air thing, and only applying product to the outter edges of the pad, but I guess ive been making the mistake of trying to use one single pad for the whole car. Im glad I learned something new & helpful. How often do you actually switch pads to a...

    Anyone ever seen this?

Its crossed my mind. But I dont have the knowledge of how to actually do it. And I really dont feel comfortable doing it either. I would love to learn how, but I dont think I want to waste more time than I need to on this particular car.

    Is this pad done?

I know the pad is dirty, ive been using it all day. Haha The reason why I was asking is that when I clean it with a brush the center has been starting to kinda flake off. How often do you guys "clean" your pads while detailing? I feel like ive been having to clean this pad after almost every...

    Is this pad done?

If Meg's #105 isnt working, what else can I do? If anything? I guess this is just more clear coat damage… This car is a pain in the ass!!

    Anyone ever seen this?

No, not a repaint. Just severely neglected paint… And its only on the bottom of the doors. It literally looks like someone drove thru a dirty puddle and the water just dried on the paint like a water spot, but even the Megs 105 isn't enough to get it off. Ive been working on it all day and ive...

    Bringing back "deep" color

Sorry, Im still kinda new on this forum and Im still learning what all the abreveations mean. What is "GV"? And by "detail spray" you are referring to something like a Meguiars quick detailer, right? And If I leave #7 on overnight Im assuming it neds to be applied pretty thick, right? Wouldn't...

    Anyone ever seen this?

I assumed this was just water spots. It looks like someone ran thru a puddle and the water spray just dried, but I washed it, and scrubbed the area, then clay bared, and really worked the area with clay again, but nothing worked. I just used Megs105 and it got rid of the surface marks, but these...

    Bringing back "deep" color

These are the products I have. I may not use ALL of them, but thats what ive got. Originally the paint was very close to the same color as this bottle. This is a picture of an untouched portion of the car, just washed and clayed, thats it. This is a picture of a portion of the car thats been...

    Bringing back "deep" color

If that GT500 in your signature picture is yours, Im sooo jealous! Love those cars and that color choice! Gorgeous! On to the topic: I do have clear coat damage, that I know for sure, but Im not getting it repainted, so… There's really nothing I can do. I tried using Meg's UC with an orange pad...

    Meguiars Ultimate Compound users

I JUST tried Meg's UC for the first time the other day. And although it didn't cut enough for what I was working on at the time, I cant wait to use it on my own personal cars that are in much better condition than the project car I have in my garage. I had to go to Meg's #105, and I gotta say...

    Bringing back "deep" color

Ok, so I posted another thread a few days ago about "compounds" But I think my issue has now evolved enough to post a different thread… I have a Ford Mustang with the "Lazer Red" paint color. Its a risk/reward paint. If its taken care of its one of the most beautiful paint colors Ford ever...
