    Speedy Prep Towel

Broken in correctly, the towel does not mar. Plus most people that clay will also follow with a cutting step of some kind. Clay also mar the paint as well depending on the grade.

    Pricing

IMO, it's not that great of an idea to base your rate off of someone elses rate. There are a lot of things to consider. How much is this other detailer making profit? Does it line up with your business plan? Does he do the same services and use the same products as you? How does your work...

Trust me, in terms of money, detailing supplies and gear is cheap.

How much to charge for paint correction?

I estimate how long it's going to take me depending on the severity of the car, and what the customer wants done and multiply that by my hourly rate. Usually they will not ask you how much an hour, they are just concerned with the bottom dollar.

Tried the Optimum MF cutting discs on a traditional DA today...

I have had both Megs and Optimum MF separate from the foam backing pad on me. The Optimum did it in less then a whole panel. Sent it back and still waiting to here back from Optimum if I am going to get a replacement. The Megs lasted half a car before the middle started to come apart. I...

2010 Volkswagen CC, Iron Gray Metallic

Your right it was Urano Gray. The CC's do have a very hard clear. When I was doing some test spots with the MF system the first pass came out very well. Then did a second section very fast with the MF system and it just didn't look the same. I tried another MF pad with M101 with a fast...

2010 Volkswagen CC, Iron Gray Metallic

Been trying to schedule this car for months. With my busy work schedule and the client schedule of working at night and weekends it was almost impossible to set some time to do this car. The CC has never been detailed. Just your normal 50k mile car that has it's weekly wash at the drive...

    Having trouble removing swirls

I have tried using faster arm speed with the MF system and it doesn't work that well.Work the pad slow on speed 4 or 5 and it should be able to cut pretty well. My combo right now is the MF cutting pad with D300 and M101 with Surbuf for the RIDS. Still have to finish it down with the D300...

Easiest and Hardest Colors to maintain?

+1 Personally, I have never been a fan of silver and white cars. To me those colors just do not pop when they are cleaned.

    Brinkman Light

Ran another test tonight. On a full charge, trigger locked on the On position with both beams lit, it was useless within 45 minutes, at 50 minutes it was dead. Most of my correction work is done with halogen work lamps though. I usually have it at the end of the cars to better pick up swirls...
