Review: 3D ONE Hybrid Cutting Compound and Finishing Polish

The paint I was working on looked fine after one stage, no matter which pad I used. Paint was pretty hard though, and I wasn’t chasing perfection as the job was a favor for a friend on an older car. If it was mine, and had softer paint I would have tried a test with a softer pad afterwards to...

Review: 3D ONE Hybrid Cutting Compound and Finishing Polish

I got very, very minimal dusting using it this weekend. It didn’t dry out, and it was maybe 85 in the garage, no humidity. What was most impressive was the ease of wipe off, which is a factor to me. I hate fighting with polish to remove. I used the dark purple cutting, and light purple polish...

Cleaning and Polishing Camry exhaust tips?

Are they chrome? I’ve seen Camry’s with a white dual exhaust. And hoping it wasn’t some dude gluing PVC to the rear panel for a ricer look. (I live in SoCal. We see this stuff here). Presuming they are chrome, one more vote here for P21 polishing soap. Coating them with a rim/metal/wheel...

    AutoGeek Foam Gun Review

Glad you like it, I have one and it’s one of my favorite detailing toys. I agree with you on the point that it tends to fall over if you set it down. I’ve never found a solution to that. The gun allows a one (rinse) bucket wash, which I prefer. Blasting a panel and hitting the mitt with a shot...

Differences Between Microfiber cloths and towels

The semantics of Cloths vs Towels might depend on which side of the pond you are on. In the UK they are cloths. On this forum they are usually towels.

Drying towels: is the PFM by Griot's still the best?

Me too. I have PFM towels and Gyeon silk dryers that are over a year old and still as absorbent as day one. These have never been used with drying aids.

    SHINY dash 2018 F150

Check out the PBL leather and vinyl coating. It doesn’t change the look of the dash hardly at all on my cars. It’s hard to tell if there is anything there by looking at it, but it feels “smooth,” not quite “slick.” The feel is most noticeable when I do my routine interior wipe down with...

    Labeling microfiber towels

You could also buy a couple of darker colored towels, like black, dark blue, and a red, then wash a half dozen of the yellows and one of the dark ones at a time. It will dye transfer and tint the group of yellows. The tint won’t bother the towels. Just like finger paints for kids. Yellow and...

    Building managment banned washing cars

You are describing a perfect situation for Rinseless Wash. there is no reason you can’t apply wax afterward. Lots of good tutorials on YouTube from competent detailers. Try looking for Gary Dean Wash Method.

    Thank you !!!!!

That Ford GT was insane. IIRC, the production number on it was 57. Was chatting with Barry Meguiar about it, he has number 53. Production was limited to 250 in each of the last 2 years. Sent from my iPad using Autogeekonline mobile app

What "wax" / sealer or coating for extreme hot environments?

I've always loved the performance of FK1000 here in SoCal. Less heat than AZ, but still hot and dry most of the year. Right now I'm playing around with can coat. Really liking it so far. Topping with cure on some panels and overcoat on others to test. No complaints. Guz said 6-9 months...

Tried the Big Red Sponge today...

I picked up a BRS after watching a couple different video of Yvan using it. I have tried it once, and will give it another shot, but I’m on the fence about it. This was my process: 3 gallons of distilled water in bucket with grit guard. Soaked BRS in bucket for an hour or so. Used standard...
