Safe wheel cleaner for red factory painted brake callipers

Coat the wheels, and the calipers. Then cleaning is much easier; and soap based wheel cleaners are all you will need most of the time.

What is your favourite drying towel?

Griots PFM, and Gyeon silk dryers.

Flex 3401 vs. Rupes Mille/Makita P5000C, for those that are wondering.

Mille was 400 GBP in the order link above. About $520 USD at current exchange rate.

SONAX High Speed Wax (and BSD)

Agree with mbkite about mixing. BSD and CG V7 at 1:1 is an awesome combo. Easier to apply than BSD alone, retains some of the slickness of V7, but lasts longer and way better beading than V7 alone. Give it a go if you have both.

    Cleaning Ceramic Coated Wheels

Good comment above about what kind of pads and level of dusting. I have coated wheels on my last two cars, both German, which dusted like crazy. Just soap and water took some effort but worked only OK. I use CG Diablo which is a milder soap based wheel cleaner. I think Megs wheel brightener...

    HD Polish+.....?

I recall reading comments or maybe video from HD that said the + was geared more towards elimination of dusting, but I never encountered a dusting problem with the old version, and I deal with the warm weather issues here in SoCal as well. Ease of removal and non diminishing has always been a...

    Review: Chemical Guys Blacklight Glaze

I also love some CG products, and have thrown some others in the trash. Part of the issue with CG is the marketing, which some people don't like, but how they market a specific product is a separate thing from the actual product itself. Use what works for you. The second thing with CG is that...

Help me choose a Flash Light for swirl Finding??

Scangrip without a doubt. I've bought a couple coast and tactical type flashlights before I got the big scangrip and it shows things that the others just didn't. Sent me down the rabbit hole chasing very minor defects, so there is that... the scangrip is a bit expensive compared to the others...

Why I'm not and never been a fan of waffle weave drying towels

I've never had a scratching issue with the PFM. I love those towels. When used with the "matador" method of slowly dragging across horizontal panels with only the weight of the towel they really do dry with one pass. The other towels I use that compare to them well are the Gyeon silk dryers...

    Stripping with Apc

Mckee's aerosol trim detailer, what about the over spray?

I haven't used that particular product but have used aerosol trim products in the past and I would spray a heavy amount on a foam of MF applicator and wipe on. Obviously that won't work if you are trying to hit an area that you can't easily cover, like a textured grill or bumper trim (which I...

You guys throw your drying towels in with other MF's to wash?

I never mix anything with drying towels in washer. I use griots PFM and the Gyeon silk dryers and all of them have performed consistently since new with no drop off in effectiveness.

Help me find a Glaze with fillers for this process...

I've used prima amigo under FK1000 with no problems. It's advertised as filling light imperfections, and will clean paint in between polishing.

What Did I Do Wrong - Griot's Pad

You mentioned 12 total passes. Was that per section at one time? If you are doing 12 passes at a time that seems like a lot and would definitely lead to heating. I'd try about 4, then wipe polish and inspect. If results aren't what you want, do another 4, etc. You don't want the polish fully...

    Struggle with white paint..ugh

My last couple cars have white. When polishing, I like to use little bits of the green tape to mark boundaries of polishing areas. With my grid pointers I know what I have done. Sealants and lsp's are still a challenge though. Real slow final wipe with a plush towel can help you feel any...

    Wax wheels?

McKee's hydro blue for ease of use. Coat them for better protection and easier cleaning, its a fair bit of work but you do it once and you're set for a long time. Wax is a waste of time given the effort vs. reward proposition. I wouldn't even bother with a sealant if you have to wipe it on...

What microfiber towels to stock up on?

I use a lot of towels, so it isnt usually a problem for me to have 10+ to wash at a time (except for drying towels, usually I only have a couple of those at a time, but they are big so I don't mind running the washer for a couple large towels and a few smaller ones). For the wheel towels, I...

What microfiber towels to stock up on?

I am admitted towel-aholic. I have hundreds, and I just have one car so its definitely a subject I have experience with. My recommendation would be to focus on several categories of uses for towels, and then buy towels to dedicate to each category rather than to focus on the towels themselves...

Go to microfiber towels for a Rinseless set up?

I use a couple types for rinseless. First are 600 gsm dual plus. The ones I use are green, and very similar to the grey chinchillas. I use about 10-12 for a normal wash. The other ones I use are navy blue 800 gsm German towels which are my favorite for rinseless, but aren't sold here.
