PDR - interested in it, who does it on here?

My buddy works for a car shop (accessories/remote starts/audio/video) that also has a PDR guy. Lots of money to be made... especially if you've got ties with a dealership, and get a hailstorm. I believe he netted $80K one summer (june-sept) on PDR alone.

    Pressure washer-various uses (ideas?)

Patio furniture, concrete cleaning (although, not sure how well an electric would work), vinyl siding, awnings, fences (PVC or wood), cleaning gutters?, exterior house windows (be careful). I've also used mine to clean off old grills... I dont use it on my new one, because I love it too much...

    Favorite wax applicators?

I've been using Blue/Black CCS pads on my PC 7424XP at speed 3-4.... works well for me. I use meg's gold paste wax sometimes, and just use the applicator that comes with it.

    Paint Thickness Gauge

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but I was just curious if anyone has any experience with the cheapo $35 paint thickness gauges on ebay. I have no plans on doing professional detailing, but I am getting it more for when i help out friends/family with their cars. Is it...

    Anyone seen this issue before?

In his defense... i have a TC, and the paint everywhere (especially the bumper) is AWFUL... gets scratched down to primer by practically anything!

    Incredibly Cheap Finds

I've been to three targets and havent found any of the EcoTouch products. During a visit to menards tonight, I found some "decent", not Incredibly Cheap Deals on some mainstream car care products. They are a bit cheaper than Amazon and other sites: Meg's Ultimate Compound: $7.00 Meg's Gold...

    Cringe-worthy car care

Thanks, guys. Hopefully I can get it done decently. I haven't started charging anyone yet, as I am still very new to detailing. I look at these friends vehicles as a chance to practice. Hopefully I'll be confident enough to start charging soon. :)

    Cringe-worthy car care

Just wanted to share something that happened last week. One of my friends realized that I've been getting into quality car care and detailing lately, and asked if I could help her get some scratches out of her trunk lid. I said that I could try, but it depends on how deep they are. I asked if...

Roger - Thanks for the recommendation. I'm still pretty new to this world, and haven't seen 476 mentioned before. I'll definitely look into it!

    Duragloss 951/952 vs Megs D156

Thanks, guys. Ive noticed that I can apply DG in directsunlight on a hot car with no problems. In all honesty my cars dont get much love in the winter, due to the lack of heated space, and the cold chicago winters. Winter performance is not a big deal for me. In the summer, I maintain them as...

    Duragloss 951/952 vs Megs D156

Just looking to see what the opinions are on these. It seems like they're close to the same price. Just looking to use on DD kinda cars. Ive used 951 on a couple cars, and was impressed, but have not yet tried D156... and a gallon is a lot to buy :)

Grease on my Daytona Wheel Brush

Had the same problem with my wheel brush... i just used simple green to get rid of the grease, then rinsed with apc and water. Mine doesnt sound like it was as bad as yours though. If you think its trashed anyway, maybe some brake cleaner would strip the grease?
