Can you get a mirror finish with orange cutting pad?

That looks amazing! Is that original paint on a fox body? My buddy had a 1993 GT with original red paint and 30,000 miles, but it was swirled to hell... always wanted to do some paint correction with him on it. He was always worried about messing up the paint though.

    Paint Hardness General Question

So far, I've only done paint correction on a 1998 Civic, 2007 Highlander, and 2007 Scion TC. I'm not sure how to judge "hardness" of a paint. In my opinion, the Civic was harder to correct, but looked best after correction (took and aggresive approach). The Toyota and TC seemed very easy to...

Time for a new Water hose! Advise!

I second that! Amazing hose so far (2 years). I also used a craftsman all rubber hose for a few years... VERY sturdy, and left out in the sun without problems... heavy as all hell though. I will probably buy another flexzilla for my front yard hose as well.

Extra Clearcoat. Would You Buy It As A Factory Applied Option?

I would buy it if it was a couple hundred for a coat, but I'd be doubtful of something like that happening, at least for an reasonable price. I would just assume that the cost of the product, as well as the cost of storing the car for the extra clear coat to dry would be reason for manufacturers...

    DA Polisher

I just started and I am using the pc7424xp. I like it for the most part, but after using a rupes, it's no competition. Like night and day, but I wouldn't be able to justify the cost. The pc is probably safer for beginners, as I believe the flex has forced rotation, making it easier to damage...

The Genuine T-Bar vs California Jelly Blade

Mike, I've used the Jelly blade several times before. I'm new to detailing and everything, but I have never had it cause any deep scratches, but I'm willing to bet it has caused some light "swirl" kinda depth scratches. I have a TC, and the top is all glass, so i use it on that, but then I...

    Got a ticket need adivice

Just my $.02, but in Chicago, even if you contest a ticket and win, you still pay court costs, yes - even if you WIN! (from what ive been told) I doubt that other places are this crappy, but it might be worth looking at. It also seems odd that you would get a ticket for having lights like a...

Possibly Stupid Question - Orange Peel

Thank you everybody! Info is helpful. Im not looking to take down the orange peel, as it really doesnt bother me all that much. This was more a question of curiousity. This weekend, I might be correcting the brothers Grand Marquis, and the paint is beat to hell, but there is still orange peel...

Possibly Stupid Question - Orange Peel

I am very new to detailing/paint correction. If a car still has orange peel on factory paint, is it a safe assumption that the paint depth is fine for compounding (not at risk of cutting it down too much)? This seems like common sense that if there is orange peel, its probably still thick, but...

    Black carpet, caked salt

HD Detailing - Do you mean to use the brush while the carpet is still dry? I ask because my g/fs car has the same issue. An abudance of salt caked onto the floormats, as well as the seats! (she drives people around a lot, and instead of people putting their wet bags on the floor, they ended up...

Correction Question; PC With LC MF Pad and Meg 105

I'm a newbie to paint correction, and also use the 7424XP, i used it with foam pads and Megs UC, and when i first started, i realized that the pad was only agitating and not rotating when using speed 5, I bumped it up to speed 6, and it was working alright. When i finally realized that I wasnt...
