Miscible and Immiscible - Wax and Paint Sealant Bonding

thats absolutely fine bud, eraser is probably a better option tbh as its been designed specifically for the task. IPA is basically just pure alcohol, so a little bit of a blunt instrument. i use a body shop panel wipe. its cheaper then eraser, but more user friendly than a homemade IPA dilution.

    Question on product cure time.

more layers means more protection. i frequently apply wax over polish/sealant, as it adds depth to the gloss. i don't see any reason not to here.

I messed up my new couch trying to extract stains help!!!

You could try a steam cleaner on it if you can hire one cheaply. Other than that rinsing again as suggested or call in the pro's :xyxthumbs:

    Gtechniq C1 and EXO application

My advise would be to drop Gtechniq an email and ask. They're best placed to advise you on how it's likely to behave in those conditions

I would think its quite possible, particularly if the wax has a color dye in it

Miscible and Immiscible - Wax and Paint Sealant Bonding

if i may. IPA won't actually dull the paint itself, what it will do is remove anything that is enhancing the appearance of the paint. most polishes have a glaze/fillers of some kind to add gloss and hide swirls. when you use a product like IPA, these are removed and so any small defect in the...

Miscible and Immiscible - Wax and Paint Sealant Bonding

i think that a big part of the issue is that people are grouping waxes and sealants in together, when in fact they are very different animals. waxes are generally far more forgiving in their nature than sealants, and whilst the latter will coat virtually anything, it is only as good as the...

    New Black car questions

As suggested earlier, snow foam and rinse is a great way to remove dust without touching the paint. A feather duster is also worth considering, as the static charge will lift dust away from the paint surface (it also avoids contact through towel drying)

Unable to remove "sap looking" mark

WD-40 isn't going to do any harm, it's basically just fish oil, so by all means give it a go. you might as well try everything you can (within reason) before taking it to a body shop :xyxthumbs:

Anyone use a pressure hand pump sprayer?

I use something very similar for pre-soaking grills that are covered in bug splats, wheel wells etc. it's a useful addition to any detailers collection

    When customers just don't listen

I put a really nice valeting kit together for my father a couple of years ago after we bought him a new Vw polo. Most of it has never been used. When I asked him how he was getting on with it, he told me he didn't want to get the towels messed up, so uses an old one that he keeps in the garage...

Any advice for longer lasting toppers for OC Pro?

I'd recommend Dodo Juice acrylic spritz. It's like a quick detailer on steroids ;-). It's a water based sealant, so shouldn't react with the existing coatings but will give superb gloss and durability :xyxthumbs:

Unable to remove "sap looking" mark

Tbh, if he's already hit it with a compound and that hasn't touched it, then it's probably no longer just on the surface. Not come across goof off, will have to google that one ;-)
