    VERY dirty paint question.

Thank you! I wasn't aware of that. When the weather warms up I may have to pick up a kit.

    VERY dirty paint question.

Hi Mike, I've been working on cleaning and polishing the paint on my '72 Chevelle which sat for many years in my father's garage, and was only washed a few times when I was home visiting in warmer weather. There would be a layer of dust sitting for extended periods that seemed to have...

POLL - What's the number one most important factor when it comes to polishing paint?

I'm a newbie when it comes to detailing. However, after having the good fortune to meet many people that are at the top of their varied fields, I have to say technique matters most. Someone with Mike's skill, using the cheapest of tools (including the DA that shall not be named), and basic OTC...

    McKee's 37 Glass Coating - First Use

Happy to. Even though we've only had a couple of "real rains" while I've been driving, I've noticed a major improvement in how the water runs off when it does. In moderate to heavy rain, I haven't really needed the wipers at speeds over 40 MPH. Where the wipers sweep, they seem to have...

how to coil an extension cord

I have a friend who is a camera operator for a local TV news department showed me the over/under technique years ago. The cords/cables always lay flat and never tangle. With just a few minutes practice, it's really easy to do.

GT3 Cup Car pulled out of storage - Mold Question

I had a very similar problem with my interior after prolonged storage. I can highly recommend 3M Marine Mildew Stain Remover for cleaning. It does have a bit of a bleach smell, but cleaned the interior well and the mildew hasn't returned. I'm still going through catching little spots that I...

    question?

Your swirl remove will take off the previous wax. As for products, if you like what you have and it works, stay with it. That's 90% of the battle right there. I've had good luck with Mckees 37 360, a nice All in One. But I still top with wax. (Call it habit, stubbornness, or just plain...

REVIEW - Pinnacle Liquid Crystal Waterless Wash with Carnauba

Excellent review! Pinnacle was the first waterless I used, and was quite impressed. (My review) I go back and forth between that and Uber Rinseless mixed as waterless, depending on whether I want the carnuba left behind or not. Both are great, and waterless is now my preferred method of washing.

    A long row to hoe..

Many, many thanks, my friend, I'll certainly take you up on that kind offer. I hadn't thought of it, but I guess it really is more of a restoration at this point. However, there is a great opportunity here as, while I'm cleaning and polishing, I can test and review many products as ultimately...
