    Optimum or Menzerna polishes?

From my point of view I think you are probably going about this the wrong way. The question shouldn’t be “Optimum or Menzerna” because without knowing what type of paint you are trying to correct, no one here can give you the correct answer. After you correct many vehicles of all different...

What's the Limit of DA Correction with 105?

If you only have a DA, then I'd suggest swapping to a smaller backing plate and trying a yellow pad. The smaller the pad the more aggressive the DA, which is the opposite with a rotary. The smaller pad means you can concentrate on the smaller area of the scratches without removing an unnecessary...

    Alternative use of IronX

I was preparing a 2005 Honda Accord for a paint correction and accidently came across an interesting use of IronX. This particular vehicle, although a very low mileage vehicle (15k) was absolutely filthy. It took most of the day just washing it, cleaning the wheels and getting the interior...

What is the BEST Finishing/Jeweling polish to use AFTER Meguiars 205 with a Flex or PC for that extra gloss?

You would normally top Poli-Seal with Opti-Seal and then top that and maintain the vehicle with Optimum Car Wax (OCW). I wouldn't be putting a glaze over Poli-Seal - no point, if your previous correction is done correctly.

    Calling ALL PO85RD EXPERTS....

You really can't compare DA speeds to rotary speeds, so there is no point to such a discussion. P085RD DA - start off at speed 6 (maybe a little slower on a more powerful Flex – I haven’t used one). Use firm pressure to assist breaking down the polish and then reduce speed to about 4 and...

In regards to least aggressive polishes/pads first...

First off, I think you are going about this the right way. Your steps and decisions are logical so I can’t really fault that. It does appear from your results that that the orange pads are too coarse for your paint. However I’m surprised because I’ve used M105/orange on plenty of soft paints...

What is the BEST Finishing/Jeweling polish to use AFTER Meguiars 205 with a Flex or PC for that extra gloss?

So I gather you quickly overcame your problem with M105/orange. What did you end up going with? Did the Cyan pad do it for you? Were you able to remove all the defects? Personally I think the step from M105/M205 is not the best for BMW paint, too big a jump. Sure it will work, it was a standard...

Well that should clear up the decision about which compound to use. It is what I would have expected as M105 is considerably more aggressive than Ultimate Compound. I think what you need to do now with M105/orange is to make more passes. Don’t expect every swirl/scratch to disappear with just...

In regards to least aggressive polishes/pads first...

The yellow pad is the next aggressive LC pad to the orange pad. However you haven’t as yet stated how you’ve gone after receiving the M105 and using it with the orange pad. M105 is far more aggressive than UC, it will therefore easily remove all your swirls and most of the scratches without the...

According to the notes on the web site here WTSR is capable of removing 2000 grit marks. On the chart in this thread it is somewhat equivalent to Menzerna Super Intense Polish (P083). What the real differences are between WTSR and the real Menzerna product I have no idea for I’ve never used WTSR...

Ok, I didn't realize that you already had the smaller BP. You should be fine then. Looking forward to hearing about your results next week.

In regards to least aggressive polishes/pads first...

Yellow pads have their place, but they are the most aggressive foam pad in the LC range. What we have been trying to suggest here, as the thread title implies is the least aggressive approach. So far an orange pad has not been tried with either UC or M105 so I think it maybe a little premature...

Ok, understandable as Wolfgang is their product. I just wish you were using real Menzerna polishes so we would know exactly what you are using. I suppose it is all part of the learning curve, so I’m sure you will find a use for the Wolfgang polishes in the future. The situation will become...

If you are referring to the Wolfgang version, then that is exactly my point. Why re brand something as something else only to confuse people further. I certainly wouldn't class the real P085RD as a swirl remover though. 85RD is about the least abrasive polish out there, it is a fine finishing or...

I had heard that Wolfgang was meant to similar to Menzerna. Sort of begs the question why – for there is nothing un user friendly about Menz polishes. What was meant to be wrong with Menzerna in the first place? Seems more an American company marketing ploy than anything else. This chart might...

In regards to least aggressive polishes/pads first...

You are correct. M105 is way more aggressive than Ultimate Compound. UC is a consumer product. UC is still rated as aggressive so if you have it you can try it, but if it doesn't remove the defects then M105 will. The LC green is their lightest polishing pad. Next is white and then orange. Just...
