    Tacoma Polish

Thanks! I’m in the Kingsport area so practically neighbors.

    Tacoma Polish

I can see how that would almost eliminate swirls especially if the paint isn’t too dirty. I will have to give it a try. Thanks for the advice!

    Wolfgang Uber Spray Coating maintenance

Thanks for the info. I’m definitely not an expert but sure like making them shine. BLACKFIRE One Step is my favorite polish for swirl removal. Don’t seem to get much durability so I top with Collinite.

    Small Rotary vs DA

Thanks for the info. I think I will try a 2” backing plate on my DA. Low cost/low risk option.

    Wolfgang Uber Spray Coating maintenance

What is your impression of Wolfgang CSC? Are water spots an issue like with other ceramic coatings? I’m considering an experiment with a coating “lite” material but not sure it’s a good idea on my DD that is not garaged. Thanks!

    Tacoma Polish

Thanks! It was a daily driver for about 4 yrs and recreational use/Lowe’s trips since so it’s low mileage and stays in the garage most of the time. I’m in East Tn so our winters are pretty mild. If I had learned about 2 bucket washes years ago, the correction would have been much easier. I’m...

    Tacoma Polish

Finished a full correction on my 2001 Tacoma that I purchased on Election Day 2000. GG 3” and 6” polishers with GG orange and LC white pads with Meguiars 205 and GG Correcting Creme. Finished with Collinite 845, GG Trim Restorer on fender flares and Meguiars Hyper dressing on the tires. Not...

    Small Rotary vs DA

I have been considering a Griot’s rotary for tight areas. I have no experience with rotary tools. How likely am I to do damage with a rotary? If I put a 2” backing plate on my older 3” Griot’s, can I get the same level of correction with lots of patience? I have been tilting the 3” to get into...

Meguiars apc, carpet & lingering smell (from the cleaner)

I don’t disagree but I’m not willing to spend the $$ for a high end extractor for personal use. Maybe a Bissell at some point. I do have a cheap shop vac so there’s not much at risk. I feel better about using the technique on carpet floor mats that can dry outside of the car than interior...

Meguiars apc, carpet & lingering smell (from the cleaner)

Might try applying water with a spray bottle and vacuuming with a wet/dry vac. I don’t have a carpet extractor so I clean carpet with APC, rinse with water and vacuum to dry. I haven’t noticed any APC smell. Poor man’s extractor.

What LSP do the pros use?

True, DG stuff is cheap but unfortunately it doesn’t end there. Definitely becomes a sickness for all of us who are OCD.

What LSP do the pros use?

Thanks for the responses! I have learned much on this forum but it seems to cost me a lot of $$$.

What LSP do the pros use?

Thanks for the reply. I’m definitely a Collinite fan. Somehow I managed to post the original thread twice and I replied in the other thread.

What LSP do the pros use?

I normally use Duragloss 111/601 and sometimes top with Colinite 845, Colinite 476 alone or Meguiars Ultimate Liquid. I get to see my parents and kids’ vehicles more often so it’s normally Duragloss with Aquawax on follow up washes. I have also tried Opti-seal and Wolfgang Liquid Seal but didn’t...

What LSP do the pros use?

I detail for family, friends and occasional paying customer. Most have never paid for a detail and do little to maintain their car’s appearance. I get these vehicles a couple of times a year. I look for maximum durability out of LSP’s. I’m curious what the pros use on daily drivers that they...

    Experiment

Thanks Mike! I enjoy your how to and product review videos. I did the same experiment on my 2001 Tacoma using Meguiars 205. I had less marring so the paint must have been harder and it’s maroon so maybe less noticeable. Being 20 yrs old, it needed the extra cut. It turned out nice enough that it...

    Experiment

Weekend warrior/amateur experimenting with pad and polish combinations. Tried GG microfiber pads/BLACKFIRE One Step on my 2007 Accord DD with 170K miles. I had marring on the vertical surfaces so I did a second step with LC white pads/BLACKFIRE. Turned out really nice. Question for those with...

    BLACKFIRE AIO

BLACKFIRE AIO doesn’t seem to very durable but I have great paint correction success with it. It doesn’t make sense to have to strip the sealant after correction so I’m wondering if BLACKFIRE polish is equivalent without the sealant? Thanks
