    longest it has taken you to use up a detailing product

    My current can of Meguiars #16 was bought in 1986 and is still good. I also have a can of Meguiars Deep Crystal paste wax I bought in 1987. The receipt is still in the box. The wax is also still good.

    What was your first car?

    My first car was a 1972 Ford Pinto. It was a Sprint package with a red/white/blue theme inside and outside. I bought it in 1977 with 52,000 miles for $375. I wish cars could be bought for that sort of money now.

    Old waxes that are no longer around

    One of my favorites from back in the 70s was Astroshield. It was a very early sealant. It used polyethylene and dimethisiloxane polymers. I've still not experienced anything that beads water as well.

    The best wax for a budget..?

    For less than $50, I think Liquid Souveran is the best. Very deep shine and much more durable than either paste Souveran and Signatere Series II.

    Diluting Optibond tire gel

    I dilute it 1:1 and use in a trigger sprayer. I think it works very well that way.
