Anyone use Microfiber towels from Dollar General

I think they are more prone to scratching the paint, less nap, threaded edges, tag sewed on vs. stuck on (like that little detail on the Cobra towels). I use them, have a bunch, actually. They are great for: Drying/polishing wheels. Wiping on protectant. (interior/exterior materials) Buffing...

Is it a waste of effort?

I would think if you polished every 6 months, you wouldn't have any clear left after 2 years or so.

Removing wax/polishes from the clear paint protection line?

The stuff above works too, but when I get wax on top of my vinyl pinstriping on the GMC, (same basic scenario) I use a toothpick and run along the line. Gets all of it off, costs next to nothing (seriously, a toothpick), and I've done it for 4 years and noticed no ill effects.

Einszett 1Z Deep Cleaner on leather....not so good results.

My leather is (was, perhaps) coated however. It worked GREAT on the passengers side. Looks brand new. Perhaps the coating on the drivers side has broken down a bit. I only had a problem on the front part of the cover, the rest of it matches the passengers seat now. Curious.

    Worst wheels I've encountered

One thing to try would be Naval Jelly. It's a gel type paste, wear gloves, and apply directly to the affected area. It's a rust remover, but it's done some miracles for me. That may be what a previous poster was referring to. Apply it, let it sit for however long it says on the bottle (agitate...

Einszett 1Z Deep Cleaner on leather....not so good results.

Well, after some more looking into it, based on your responses, I went at it again. Used a stiff scrub brush, and the 1Z, and removed nearly 100% of the dye transfer on the passengers seat. You guys are right. Went to work on the passengers seat, and I think I've ruined the front part of the...

    Turning a "50 footer" into a "5 footer"... 2001 Lexus IS300 - the worst paint I have ever seen. You've been warned.

Seriously, they must have "cleaned" the paint in previous years with 400 grit sandpaper. I've seen some terrible paint, but that is by and far the worst. I don't even know how that happens. My current car was washed at car washes for years before I bought it, and the clear looked nothing like that.

Einszett 1Z Deep Cleaner on leather....not so good results.

Hi all, Someone here recommended I try the 1Z Deep Plastic Cleaner on my coated leather seats to deep clean them, so I figured, why not, and ordered a bottle with my last order. Their website specifically states "Use on the dashboard, steering wheel, shift knob, arm rests, finished leather...

    help-cleaning tires

Mothers Foaming Wheel and Tire Cleaner. Dude, I have a 13 year old set of tires on my truck, and a 10-12 year old set of tires on my car, and all the tires look new after using their product. Whitewalls/letters are pearly white, and the blackwalls are actually black. Just use a good scrub...

Pinnacle Leather Conditioner....did I do it wrong?

I mean, I'm fine with the slickness. Slickness= less surface tension = less wear. I just wanted to make sure the product wasn't just staying on top of the leather, thus going to waste. If others have experienced this, I'm fine with that.

    Wish List Not Working?

Hi all, I've been adding stuff to my wish list for me to easily remember it come next time I make an order. It hasn't worked since either last night, or this morning, can't remember. I'll click "add to wishlist" or "View Wishlist", and the page just keeps "loading" for a minute or two, and...

    Scrubbing Bubbles on leather???

I'd be interested in seeing how it does, like I said, for a one time application, it does a good job. Tried it on my car earlier, genuinely surprised how well it works. Seats are currently soaking up some Pinnacle Leather Conditioner at the moment.

Pinnacle Leather Conditioner....did I do it wrong?

Hi Al, I tried it again, cleaning the seats, then using two shirt button sized drops per section, then rubbed it all over the surface, to the same effect. Is the slickness just normal of Pinnacle? The Connolly Hide Care doesn't have this effect.

    Conditioning the Backside of Leather

Hi all, Pretty soon I'm going to take the leather seat cover off my car to work on the foam underneath that's lost a bit of it's support. I was wondering, since coated leathers don't "take" conditioners as well as uncoated leather, would there be any benefit to conditioning the backside of the...

    Scrubbing Bubbles on leather???

Just going to chime in here for anyone who googles "scrubbing bubbles on leather" and reads this thread. I too wondered how well this product would work, so I actually tried it. The leather in my Town Car is made by Connolly, so it is genuine leather, of very good quality. Obviously, I...

Brake dust baked into wheel finish

My old Lincoln had nice rims, but the corners of each spoke had a little brown spot. Removed the brake dust, but the stain always remained. Looked like rust to me, but aluminum doesn't rust. I could never get it out. :(

    Is Polishing Chrome Necessary?

That's the thing, wouldn't the Daytona brush abrade the wax? I would think so. I usually make it a habit of putting Liquid Glass on the wheels every now and then, but I never notice much of a difference (mainly because I clean my wheels before any type of buildup is noticeable).

The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

It's a 2000, I bought it awhile back to replace my old 1994. I wanted a 2002 (PI intake w/ aluminum crossover, adjustable pedals) but it was in such good shape, I couldn't pass it up. It literally looks new. Low miles too. 8) Should last me quite a while.

Pinnacle Leather Conditioner....did I do it wrong?

Hi all, Ever since I bought my first car, I've been a LEXOL man. It's cheap, it works well, and can be found at any autoparts/supermarket store, so if you run out, you can get a new bottle quickly. I wanted to try some new products out "just for fun" that were offered here. Connolly's Hide...
