    Lake Country vs Rupes Pads

dlc95 for the win! UPDATE. My AGO order arrived and it included one of the new Rupes (blue) backing pates. JACKPOT Even the Rupes pads are much stickier. While not scientific, I do think the Lake Country pads stick a tad better but with this new blue backing plate, the difference is...

    Lake Country vs Rupes Pads

This is interesting because l do have the MKII but maybe it’s an older version. I don’t recall the backing plate being blue though but will definitely look later. Is it literally blue? My inclination is that the one I have is gray.

    Lake Country vs Rupes Pads

Thanks Mike. I watched and read everything and it make theoretical sense. So, back to my problem. Do i order a new Rupes backing plate and he that it stick better or do they all come that way and I a just expecting too much. for those that use the Rupes LHR series and pads, do they stick...

    Lake Country vs Rupes Pads

Dr Oldz is on to something. I took the LC 3” and pressed it on to my Rupes 19LHR and it didn’t stick any better than the rupes pad so it must be something with the backing plate. The 19LHR isn’t that old. Maybe 1-2 years and until recently hasn’t seen much use. However it has always had pad...

    Lake Country vs Rupes Pads

I have to hand to LC, they have some very sticky velcro and work very well. I had always used Rupes 6" pads on my LHR 19 but when I bought a new LHR 75ES, I decided to buy some 3" LC pads instead of Rupes. Man, you can't hardly pull those things off so it makes it really nice to be able to...

Anyone who does pro detail on weekends while having a regular 5 day 37.5 hour a week job?

I am in the same spot. I work a normal 8-5 M-F job. I started out doing my own, then friends, then word just kind of spread. My stuff varies greatly. My last two jobs were a 2014 F250 and a 2015 Bentley. I do it when I can usually in the evenings and on weekends. Unless family life takes...

Does Blackfire wheel cleaner remove ceramic coatings?

Doesn’t seem to be. This is in their description. “It contains no acids, no butyl of any kind and no petroleum distillates. It is safe for all wheel finishes including polished aluminum and clear coats. “ But doesn’t mention other coatings.

Does Blackfire wheel cleaner remove ceramic coatings?

Looking to clean and polish some wheels. Once coated with something like CQuartz or dlux etc, if you use Blackfire to clean them later does it remove the coating? If so, what’s safe to use on coated wheels that does a good job with the brake dust and grime. Thanks.

    Lake Country Pads - Suggestions???

Folks seem to really like LC foam pads. I am using the Rupes LHR19 and LHR75. I needed some new pads for the 75 and ordered a coupe of LC CCS to try out. Man the velcro sticks very well. MUCH better than the rupes pads on to the LHR19. Is this the case for their bigger 6" pads too? If so I...

Can it truly be “ swirl free”

So I am working on my first black car. Washed, Clay bar, Rupes LHRmkii with first step rupes yellow followed by rupes diamond white. When I look at it with the fluorescent shop lights overhead, it looks great. However, upon inspection looking very close with a super bright light right next to...

1990 GM Black Paint - Advice needed

I am working on my first older car. It is a 1990 GM black truck. Overall, the paint is pretty good but I need some advice. I am using a Rupes LHR RO polisher and the Rupes polish, foam system. I did a test panel and was able to get most of the swirls out once I finally got down to the Blue...
