What Product Line .... New Poll

I have used many products from all those product lines... except for Optimum. Almost every line has at least a product or two that stands out. Because of that, I never recommend "one" product line. However, because of the ease of use, performance, and availability of the new Mothers' products...

    Liquid Souveran

Well, again, on it own, I would say about a month tops (or 3 to 4 washes). However, I don't agree that those results are equal to "any" carnauba, or other carnauba blends. Nevertheless, LS is a nice, easy to use product, that produces a nice warm, very wet, pleasing look, and a month is pretty...

    Liquid Souveran

Sure, I've used a couple of booster products over LS... and yes, they do extend the durability. Of course, they would extend the durability of any product. However, I like to have an idea of the durability of each LSP on it's own merits.

    Mothers Reflections

I would agree! As a matter of fact, it's tough to justify trying other products, but that wouldn't be much fun. :D

What are the Poorboy equivalents of Menzerna IP and FP?

That is also my take on those products. I would add... the PB's products are more user friendly, but in the hands of a knowledgeable user, the Menzerna products give slightly better results.

    Liquid Souveran

LS is my favorite carnauba based "liguid" wax. Easy to apply and remove, with an outstanding shine. However, like it's paste counterpart, durability is not one of it's strong points.

Help picking a good swirl remover/polisher...

When used with a PC, powerpolish is a light to light-moderate polish at best... a decent one, but light to mild nonetheless. With Poorboy's, and I guess with Optimum (haven't used them) you can get a product that is a bit more aggressive to start with.

    Mothers Reflections

    That would be Zaino... :D

    Mothers Reflections

I would say not only is the Reflections Advanced Car Wax the best OTC products, IMHO, it is as good as "most" of the boutique products sold today... at least when it comes to looks and ease of use. The TopCoat is also very nice... it adds a bit more warmth, as it has some carnauba in it, and...

    Crystal Mist...Which is it!!

Any spray on product that provides minimal protection that I probably "wouldn't" use on a dusty surface... I label it as a "final QD" or "gloss enhancing QD". Crystal Mist is one of these products. If any of these product provide measurable protection, I label them as spray waxes. (natural or...

    my list opinions/suggestions

98bmw323is, The others have given you some good suggestions, and the products you listed will probably work fine. However, remember, the detailing process is all about process, procedure and prep... that's what concerns me about your list. You don't have any paint prep products... like clay...

Four Starr Ultimate Paint Protection (UPP)

The entire 4 Star Ultimate line of products is very good. Specifically, I've had the opportunity to use an older UPP formula, and the latest version. The newer version is definitely easier to use and a good synthetic wax. As a matter of fact, visually, and protection wise, I find it's almost...

    Most Favorite Step in Detailing

Well, I really enjoy all phases of detailing, as they compliment each other. However, I really enjoy polishing the paint to perfection. I also believe it provides the most significant improvement in the appearance of the vehicle. I also really enjoy "final detailing"... applying a great gloss...

Need Help with buffing off polish...

My guess is that you worked this products too far. With the paint cleaner, you work a small section, and wipe it off before it gets very dry. The DC#2 is a glaze (not an abrasive polish). If I remember correctly, you work it in lightly, let it haze, and buff it off. If you used too much...

    Souveran Paste Wax!!

Well, I've tried just about carnauba wax out there. When people ask me about Souveran, here's what I say... There are a lot of fine carnauba waxes that are "close" to Souveran... maybe 90 to 95% as good as Souveran (appearance). Those other carnauba's are far less expensive than Souveran...

just used mothers gold claybar system

A good selection there! Because I have "lots" of QD for lubricant, I like to buy the individual clay bars, rather than a kit. With that said, I don't find a "big" difference in clay bars. However, I do like the Opti Clay that I tried recently.

    Tires and Wheel Well Dressing

Absolutely! I seem to on a Mothers "kick" lately, but I really do like the new FX Tire Spray. It is easy to a apply (a lotion), leaves a nice shine (not a crazy shine), and is very durable.

    Glass Cleaning 101

Mothers Chrome polish also cleans windows up great. Follow it up with a reqular glass cleaner for glossy, super clean windows. :D

NEW POLL --- Product of Choice

Well, if you like a product that is easy to use, the new Reflections Car Wax applies and removes incredibly easy. Same goes for FX Synwax. Suprisingly, the price for the Reflections Car Wax here at AutoGeek is around $3 less than any of the local stores around me. So, pick some up on your next...

NEW POLL --- Product of Choice

I'm also a fan of synthetic wax topped with carnauba. UPP is an excellent choice, as is EX-P, and a bunch of others. I really don't find a big difference between most synthetic waxes, and I have tried most of them. :D Yes, UPP does have a bit more of the carnauba look, and in my opinion, is an...
