I hand wash mine in hot water (wearing nitrile rubber gloves) with Liquid Tide. Then I rinse them thoroughly in warm water with a little distilled vinegar and allow them to air dry.

I also prefer a thick, soft sheepskin mitt. Yes, you will get dirt in the mitt. (any mitt) However, if you are rinsing the mitt thoroughly after each panel, it shouldn't be an issue. The MF mitts I've tried so far don't rinse out well. I understand that some of the new ones rinse out better...

I love the new Mothers' FX Tire Shine. It leave a nice shine... but not a "crazy" shine. The "lotion" consistency is easy to apply and doesn't seem to sling. Durability is also very good.
