is bob mckee the owner of all these companies on the forums?

Reminds me of an old story. Long ago, Arnold Palmer was driving his Cadillac through the mountains on his way to a big golf tournament. He stopped for gas at an attended station and told the attendant to "fill her up while I go the restroom." As he got out, a couple of golf tees fell out on the...

Why isn't everyone using coatings if it is "better" than sealants?

In addition to the above, one reason could have been fear of mis-application. Now that more are using and sharing their experience, maybe more will try. Also, no real solid discussion of maintenance. If you are still "treating" with sprays and rubs every three to six months you really get no...

    Mckee's Fast Interior Detailer Review

100% right on. I tried it out as soon as I got it. I agree with all above. Fantastic on interior already in pretty good shape. It did remove some scuffs on the kick panels but I would depend on a little stronger All Purpose Cleaner for the big chunks and nasty stains. It does leave a slight...

    Soap vs rinseless

Does condensation not form on the horizontal services? I can't wash much after sunset without a fine layer of new moisture forming on the roof and hood. Must be a "Southern" thing. My wife said after one episode of evening cleaning, "Well, the dew-crew is out chasing the dew again."

Starting a Youtube series of videos... ?

Disclaimer should be fine. "This video is a representation of my results. Carefully read and heed all instructions and warnings that come with the product....etc...." I'm not a lawyer, but I produce a lot of these and I do have Errors & Omissions insurance and legal council. As far as your...

    Racecar games

That ad's funny. I interviewed Stevie Wonder when he was in the hospital from a traffic accident while traveling through NC. His response when I asked him "What happened," he said "I was driving."

Autogard vs Opticoat vs ToughSeal vs Ceramic Pro?

Of course, there's no Lifetime warranty on locally applied sealants. BUT..an arrangement could be made with a local detailer to keep your finish in top shape for an annual fee that would probably total less than the pro-coating treatments. Yep, paint prep is the key.

    Richy's Thinking Outside the Box

Stop it! You're killin me! I thought this was too radical... until I noticed the swirls on my seat. I guess the first step is to change the moisturizer in our shower gel (eliminate scratchy hiney). I noticed the short duration of auto products. I guess ammonia, bleach, vinegar or other cleaning...

    Richy's Thinking Outside the Box

The granite is porous until sealed with granite sealer (imagine that). I'll follow everyone's results if you'll post it here. Been wondering the same thing about household uses for detailing product for a while.

    Duragloss 501/601 premix

I've layered it. Still included the 601 with the sealant. Going on 11 months and still shining & beading. Funny you mention the "mixing of the dots." I was just thinking about that possibility. Let us know if anyone tries it.

    Duragloss 501 and compounding/polishing

I am glad you posted this suggestion. I was thinking about doing this process on an upcoming project. I have had great duration of DG#501 on roof and wheels. Plus, I will top the 501 with Clear Coat #111 after it cures anyway. Duration should be excellent. Thanks

    Duragloss 501 and compounding/polishing

In the words of Dr. Bunsen Honeydew....."Watch it Fizzzzzzz!";) I've never noticed that reaction. I guess I use it as soon as it's mixed.

    Duragloss 501/601 premix

The alternative is to coat with #601, leave on paint as you coat with your next product, and wipe both layers off when dry. It's a quick extra step but you only use what you need. Agreed, don't forget the wheels.

    Duragloss 501 and compounding/polishing

I've got a similar plan on a couple of "not-so-bad" black suv's in a couple of weeks. The plan is just like yours, but after the paint correction, I will use DG105 for its sealant properties. Then I will add a layer of DG111 a day or two later for shine and added longevity. Yes, definitely add...

    Finally did my coating today

Nice. duragloss says a second coat is not needed unless you just want to make sure you cover any places missed. Your timing should be fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
