Ever Forgotten About a Detailing Tool You Had Purchased?

I've cleaned the headlights on one of my cars as recently as this spring using a drill attachment and the Wolfgang headlight cleaning kit, which worked fine. When I was going to do the headlights on my Highlander last week, I suddenly remembered that about a year back, I had purchased the Mighty...

Tell everyone one of your best detailing secrets!

I use a thin flexible card, like the cards issued by supermarkets, wrap a microfiber towel around it and spray it with an exterior detailer or waterless wash to clean panel and other seams. Surprising what you can pull out of there.

1998 3000GT Paint Correction Experience By The Inexperienced...

So, I was able to acquire a 1998 Mitsubishi 3000GT in Caracas Red. It has been quite an experience getting it back on the road and the paint, while in good shape, needed some help. When I got it a month and a half ago, I washed it, clayed it, and put some Bead Maker on it. Washed it weekly...

    Hard Water Spots

Over the weekend, decided to work on this. When I got the car a month and a half ago, I washed it, clayed it with a mitt, and covered it with Bead Maker just to get something on it until I could get the time to try to do some correction. Washed it weekly since acquisition and hit it with Bead...

    Hard Water Spots

Sorry, been away for a while. So for using the pad, would a white thin pro pad be too much. The black and red thin pro pads have no cutting from what I understand. The spots aren’t that bad, but it’s one of those “I know it’s there” issues. Thanks!

    Hard Water Spots

The car is a 1998 Mitsubishi 3000GT in Caracas Red. I tried to get a picture of some of the spots, not sure how well they’ll be seen. It passes the 15 foot test, but the spots are there. Just got a GG G9 and G6, along with some LC ThinPro pads, but FedEx seems to have lost the 5 inch...

    Hard Water Spots

Hi Mike, First, thanks for all you do! Was wondering if your class will be addressing working on single-stage paint, as I have some water spots on red paint I’d like to address. Not sure of the origin of the water spots, as I just got the car. Thanks!

    Best car scent

I’ve had many compliments on a product called Environscent AutoSticks. I’ve used both Showroom and Mahogany Wood. They are supposed to last about 30 days, but if your car sits out in the hot summer sun, it’s probably closer to 20 days. CG guys stuff smells good, but hasn’t been lasting long...

How to use a foam gun by Mike Phillips

Hi Mike. Just broke out the newly acquired foam gun today, and your instructions were perfect to a T. It definitely makes washing the car much more fun, and the dirt does come off a lot easier. Thanks for taking the time to do this, and for all the other articles you do for us, it's greatly...

    Clay lube

2 ounces of Blackfire Wet Diamond Rinseless Wash, diluted in a 32 ounce spray bottle, worked great with a Nanoskin clay mitt this past weekend! Haven't tried it with a traditional clay bar, but think it would work just fine.

Honeycomb Grill and Hard Plastic Molding Issues

Need some advice on how to approach oxidation on my honeycomb grill and molding. This is on my 2004 Mitsubishi Galant LS. As you can see, there are several areas where the water pools within the grill. As I’m just starting to get into trying to make my cars looks as good as they can, this...
