    Best Wax For Silver Paint

NXT 2.0 makes my metallic silver paint glisten. I had forgotten that my paint was mettalic silver until I used it a couple of uears ago and, wow, do those flakes gleam in the sun. Less than $20 too. Although, technically it's a sealant so not sure ot works well on top of anything else. Optimum...

How Much Does Wax "Really" Do For Perfect Paint?

Never used or seen 845 so not sure how it compares, but I would say #26 is slightly thicker than NXT - not runny at all, just creamy. I believe NXT 2.0 and #21 sealant are the same product other than #21 is formulated as body shop safe.

How Much Does Wax "Really" Do For Perfect Paint?

I have come to the conclusion that there is a point of diminishing returns regarding waxes and sealants. Longevity seems to be the biggest difference among them and not necessarily appearance. The most expensive wax I've ever bought is Pinnacle Souveran. I bought it chasing every bit of shine...

How Do I know what polish/pads to use? So many options!!

Thanks, Mike. What was the process before the nanoskin came out? More aggressive clay? I clayed once before (different car) and it did make the paint smooth as glass so not sure why it didn't work this time on this car. Same exact clay too with the ONR at clay lube ratio.

    Optimum car wax

I did a review on it a few years ago. It's an excellent product and I still use it after a quick wash. It has excellent durability in my opinion (months). My cars are also garaged. Once I run out, I'm going to try Meguiar's Ultimate Wax to see how it compares.

How Do I know what polish/pads to use? So many options!!

Quick question for anyone that can shed some light. I clayed the car completely with a mothers clay kit. I tried the baggie test before and after, and I found that there was no difference. The paint still felt gritty. I clayed a test spot again thoroughly to see if perhaps I was not claying...

I will try to get some better overall shots when the sun goes in a bit.

How Do I know what polish/pads to use? So many options!!

Well, I got to try out the system yesterday on my wife's RX330 Lexus. The paint on it is in good to excellent condition so I went straight to the finishing wax. I found it very easy to use. The results were very good, although, the results aren't all the noticeable. I mean, the car looks...

Can I restore MF towels or are they toast?

Well, I tried the vinegar thing. I tried the really hot water thing. I tried the really hot water and vinegar thing. :) Rinsed them about 10 times and nothing :( They will be relegated to wheel cleaning and other dirty jobs. On another note, I tried some Chemical Guys El Gordo towels and I...

How Do I know what polish/pads to use? So many options!!

So I have ordered the Meg's microfiber kit. I wanted to keep it as simple as possible for now. I hope to have the car done before October. I will post results here to help others in the future who might be on a similar quest. This will be my first attempt at machine detailing. Wish me luck and...

Can I restore MF towels or are they toast?

Nope. Wife doesn't use dryer sheets.

Can I restore MF towels or are they toast?

Makes more sense. Thanks for the tip!

Can I restore MF towels or are they toast?

I have to imagine Woolite is just as effective, but I've never tried vinegar. I even washed them repeatedly with no detergent to make sure no residue remained. Rinse only. Still the same.

Can I restore MF towels or are they toast?

I am using the plush ones for wax removal, and the medium ones for quick detailing, spray wax. The thinner ones are usually for interior and wheels, glass, etc. I wash them all together, unless one has really bad brake dust or grease.

Can I restore MF towels or are they toast?

I have a lot of $$ invested in microfiber towels. I have Shamrocks, Supreme 530s, Cobras, and a bunch of mother's and meguiar's basic towels. Anyhow, I'm not sure where I went wrong but I washed them only with Woolite (dye and perfume free) and never dried them on high heat. But ever since I...

How Do I know what polish/pads to use? So many options!!

Yeah, I guess using D151 after D300 doesn't make much sense. I think I will just go with D300/D301 for now. Maybe try some other stuff next summer.

How Do I know what polish/pads to use? So many options!!

Thanks, Mike. This thread has helped a lot. I have been reading glowing reviews of the Microfiber DA system from Meguiar's. I think I will keep it simple by trying this out first, and if I'm not happy with the results, I will step it up a notch. Do you know if I can top off the D301 cleaner...

How Do I know what polish/pads to use? So many options!!

This is great, thank you. I will go with a compound and dedicated polish (no wax or sealant) this time around. Top it off with a good wax. I have Pinnacle Sovereign(?), Dodo Juice, NXT 2.0, #26 Yellow Wax, and probably a few other waxes I haven't used yet. :) Going forward I would like to find...

How Do I know what polish/pads to use? So many options!!

Thank you. You're right, I don't have the time to dedicate to all three of my vehicles. My daughter's G35 is my main concern but I will no doubt target my other cars. They are much better maintained so light swirls are the only defect on those. Anyhow, if it takes a pro 8-10 hours or even two...
