Ahh ok. See I guess what I didn't realize is that the polishes are a slight abrasive while bringing out the shine of the paint. I guess when I think polish, I just think "makes it shiny like a wax", not "helps remove swirls".
Ahh ok, so a polish acts as a swirl remover, such as SwirlX? Still trying to get the lingo down. So if Iwere to do a MEgs UC and them the SwirlX then a wax, that would be considered a 2 step process??
Also, how do you guys know what is a hard or soft paint? Just trial and error?
I have read (no on hand experience yet) that it is good practice to always tape up trim pieces and the like whenever using a polisher JUST in case sling happens. Another trick I read about Mike Phillips put up was just put an old beach towel over the windshield to block the glass as well.
Hope...
I wish I could give you advice, but I have absolutely no experience in it lol. I AM curious though, how do you determine what is considered a 1, 2 or 3 step correction?
That is a bada$$ Tundra man. Looks great, you did an awesome job. What did you use to remove the glue and hazing from the emblems being removed?
Hopefully he's careful with how close he gets to his sites lol.
Good advice. Thanks!
P.S. Am I able to use the same cleaners I would use on the seats and carpets on the headliner? Mine is starting to look dirty lol.
hahahaha. That may prove difficult to convince the future Mrs. of lol.
Actually, it's kind of known, but my fiancee is an only child, so we both know her mom is going to leave her house to us. And what is in the back yard you ask? A 4 car garage, that's what!! Not that I'm rushing her to...
I was wondering the same thing!! Glad it's back! lol.
Yeah, thanks for that. I think it's so much easier and more effecient when you have a step by step type process to follow.
What do you guys think about using my cousin? According to him, he has over 2200 different chemicals I can choose...
Ahh makes sense. I knew it was something along the lines of that lol. Ok, I have a new question in regards to this:
My cousin has a partnership with a chemical company that sells car detailing chemicals, kind of like an Ardex deal. He said he can get me gallons of concentrate that dilute out to...
My only fear is kind of losing track of dilutions. How do you guys take care of that?
So should I basically seprate materials for cloth and leather? Or just carry one product with different bottles of dilution for cloth, bad leather and decent leather?
Any suggestions of brushes or other...
O ok awesome, that looks pretty decent. So am I able to do something like cleaning carpets and seats with the Ultima and taking care of plastics and hard vinyls with the quick interior detailer?
As of now, here are mine (not in any particular order):
-Build car models (need to get back into it)
-Play guitar (same as car models)
-Autocross
-Cars in general
-New to detailing
-Xbox - I am really into Forza and have a full steering wheel setup and everything along with Call of Duty
-Collect...
Hey all, I have been going back and forth on how to detail interiors. I have no idea where to start, step and products wise. I have always been a fan of and continue to use Meguiar's Quick interior detailer but that's about as far as I get.
I want to be able to get stains out of seats or at...
I hope there isn't a huge sale, I just placed my order last night!!! haha. But for the sake of the rest of you guys...

I don't have a ton of experience with it, but the second one, right above this post, my dad owns. It works decent as a general vacuum for the shop or house, but not really automotive IMO. Didn't seem to have enough suction power for my carpets.
