Which 3” Backing Plates would fit on a Makita PO 5000C / 6000C

Thanks Mike you are a Star! when you say the Flex mini polisher. I assume you mean the DA XFE 7-12 80 . Other Question, if I find it too tippy or the Makita body is too big, to get access . Do you think the PE 8 -4 80 being a Rotary is a little dangerous for Newbie ? I was just a little...

As a newbie polisher could I get away with just having the Makita PO6000C 6” pad.

I am still trying to find a 3” backing Pad that I can fit on, or adapt to attach to my PO6000C. not having much joy! I saw a video with Kevin Brown using a 6” DA, and he did have at one stage only part of the pad, on some small sections. Obviously KB is probably imo a genius level polisher...

Is this Ring Inspection light as good as proper swirl finder lights?

OK I have 2 of these LED inspection lamps RIL3600HP | MAGflex Twist LED Inspection Lamp | Inspection Lighting My car has very few light swirl marks. IMO its almost impossible to see them in the daylight, but we have a halogen securuty light high up on the wall beside my driveway ... that picks...

Paint Thickness Guage inadequate ... discovered the boot on the S Class Coupe is plastic!

OK in fairness my ERAY PTG (£169 discounted to £98) only said it did Ferrous and Aluminium substrata. I realised most of the car is Aluminium, wings doors, bonnet etc. So I knew the skirts and bumpers were an issue, but when it wouldnt work on the Boot, a magnet said it all! Are there any...

Cant find a 3” backing Pad for the Makita PO6000C , could I use this bit of kit for the small areas?

Must confess it does worry me if I can clean it perfectly. And I may only use it on a few small areas; once the main job is done, if its really neccessary. We do have the DAS 6’s but they are 5” diam pads so not much difference.

Cant find a 3” backing Pad for the Makita PO6000C , could I use this bit of kit for the small areas?

Thanks I was trying to hold the budget, until I worked out if I was any good at this polishing lark. I do have one concern, the drill has been used once before to drill some wood beams .. about 20 holes; and as it does suck air through the handle and then blasts (over 1500rpm) air out of the...

Cant find a 3” backing Pad for the Makita PO6000C , could I use this bit of kit for the small areas?

Could I use this Makita right angle drill. 400 watts , variable speed 1 to 2450 rpm to polish the small difficult areas on a complex front bumper ( around fog lights etc. ) ? I would need to attach a 3” M14 backing plate via this M14 to 6mm drill bit attachment (see below) The alternative is...

Just got my Makita PO6000C 6” Polisher ... and a few questions ...

Hi Scott your informative info is very much appreciated; as I am doing all my “armchair” learning in my post Back Operation recuperation time. Very frustrating not being able to just nip outside and trial and error these theories. As winter in coming on and no heated garage, I need to do all my...

A good Pad cleaning brush for convoluted 3M Foam Pads? Sold in UK

Thanks so much Useful tip. I feel this might work for me, as trying to recreate a Kevin Brown style with a primed pad, prizing water etc. My only compressed air is off a Divers 300 Bar bottle! So thats tricky, very slightly opening the valve and running the mc at the same time. Full power...

Just got my Makita PO6000C 6” Polisher ... and a few questions ...

Hi Scott much appreciation for your comments. Due to Amazon delivering 2 PO 6000Cs by accident ... I naturally compared them, and found run in free air .. they differed a lot in which one spun in DA mode. I.e. one spun on setting 2 upward and quite consistently, with a good spin on setting 3, 4...
