Exhaust tips from hell, featuring Mother's PowerBall

If your tips are like my s4 they're not removable. They are a pain to clean. Avoid using all purpose cleaners on them, depending on the ingredients they can cause pitting. Nice turnaround, they look good.

Jet Black: Pelted and Faded bumper

Wouldn't white paint have come off when he was polishing before?

    Stupid mistake please help!

Glad to hear you were able to fix it. Just remember now that unless you're polishing the roughest thing that should come in contact with your paint is a microfiber. The 20v turbos are nice. They get good mileage cruising On the highway. Since the s4 is my weekend driver, I'm about to call Jhm...

Jet Black: Pelted and Faded bumper

It could be a repaint like you said. You can really see some orange peel in the last picture. It looks like contaminates in the clear coat, or maybe sand pitting that then gets filled with little amounts of wax or polishes. Do a wipe down of the bumper with IPA and then put your hand in the...

    Stupid mistake please help!

If your audi's clear coat is anything like mine then it's probably rock hard. You would had to have put some serious work in with that sponge to go through the clear. I have an 06 S4 and the first compound I tried was the UC. I wouldn't try to polish my whole car with it because it didn't have...

    Sticker residue removal

That's a tough one if the fabric is attached to the visor with an adhesive as well. Any solvent could dissolve the visor solvent. On a sensitive fur jacket I used an ice cube wrapped in a baggie and put it against the adhesive. It made the adhesive brittle and I was able to carefully scrape it off.

I nearly went insane working with this Porsche paint

That's sickening. I can never understand why people do that to cars. Especially if it's just random. Jealousy? Hopefully he can have it fixed with the least amount of headaches.

    Unbelievably excellent Cleaner! (Long Read)

On another note I've worked with nutritional supplements and vitamins since I was young and I started using a product similar to d-limonene to help with cholesterol levels. Pretty effective at lowering bad levels. It's also being researched as a medicine to actually help reverse plaque build up...

    Unbelievably excellent Cleaner! (Long Read)

Just a tip for anyone experimenting with the d-limonene, don't use it on headliners, or anything you don't want the adhesive to loosen on. I used a 10:1 ratio of a similar strength 40% product on the barrels of my gummed up rims. I let it sit for too long and when I agitated it a little bit...

    May have damaged leather

Definitely not using it on leather anymore then, thanks. Would it still be safe to use on the plastics and dash?

    May have damaged leather

My dad is going to bring the car by the house again later. I'm going to try the water drop test to see if the coating is gone now. From what I saw though any liquid was staying suspended above the leather. I'll definitely stay using the soft terry cloths to clean any leather as well, and just...

    IPA Tires

The majority of tires are made from some ratio of SBR. SBR is considered resistant to alcohol. Long term exposure would reduce the elasticity though and eventually cause make them dry out. A quick wipedown though before dressing them wouldn't hurt.

    May have damaged leather

Here are some pictures I just took of the leather. It was the side bolster of the passenger seat. It was getting a little dark outside so I used a light to help with the pictures. Closeup Shot of the bolster above. The outside part of the bolster is what I cleaned and had the black...

    May have damaged leather

So my dad asked me to clean the interior of his car which hadn't been cleaned in almost 2 years. He has the same car as me only one year older. His leather is black while mine is a lighter color. He has a 2011 Grand Cherokee limited. Everything was going fine until I went to clean the leather...

How I do get this out??

I had the same stain when I had mine a few years ago. I can't remember if its plastic or if it was the rubber vinyl feel material. I used the griots interior cleaner and a soft bristle brush to clean it. Remember to clean the bottom of the part of the convertible that touches it as well to stop...
