    New Product - Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0

Ordered. This should work great on my daily driver (truck). Heck it's worth it to simply keep me from having to dress the acres of rubber trim while avoiding getting dressing on the paint.

    New Product - Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0

Will opti-coat bond and work well over properly prepped marine gel coat? If so this could save significant time and money as gelcoat oxidizes so easily.

    New Product - Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0

I think I'll take the plunge this will be great for my daily driver. I suspect most of us may find ourselves wanting to polish out swirls and defects before this product wears out.

    New Product - Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0

Will topping with either Optimum Car Wax or Collinite 845 degrade the product in terms of durability or protection? I ask because I work for a power company and one of our coal plants in particular is terrible about etching the clear coat on employees cars. So I'll take any added protection I...

IMO, the Flex 3401 is no longer DA king...

I get it from the 7424XP, but not with my GG ROP. It's that much smoother. On 5 or 6 my PC is rough. I used both side by side this past weekend.

    Waterless

B&B would you care to post your technique? You obviously have considerable experience using these as a wash replacement. Just curious as to how others use the product.

    Waterless

I use the waterless to wash a car only if it's pretty clean. It's also a nice presoak on really dirty areas for a rinseless wash. I use the DP Waterless Concentrate (bought a gallon) as a QD now too since it's engineered for heavier dirt I know it will be more than sufficient as a QD. The...

What is this on the paint?

Classic marks from a DA Sander. Way too perfect and uniform to be environmental etching.

    collinite 845 as a LSP?

I've always found 845 easy to apply and remove. Even applying by hand and a little too thick it isn't difficult to remove. It's 476S that will bite you if you apply it sloppily.

Anyone notice 845 muting metallic paint?

Magnetic gray metallic-Toyota color. The metallic is still visible, but the paint is definitely darker. I was surprised at the difference as I'm the kind of person that is hard pressed to tell the difference between many LSP's.

Anyone notice 845 muting metallic paint?

As an experiment I topped my truck with 845IW. It previously had BFWD on it and before that WGDGPS 3.0. As on my other car which is solid red it did have a darkening effect on the paint, but the metal flake didn't shine as bright or pop as much as it would with a quality sealant...

Which is the correct way to use a foam gun.

Foam isn't the reason I use a foam gun. I use it to prelube the areas I'm about to wash. I also will use it as a presoak when a vehicle is really dirty.

    Want list for production detailing

Try DP Rinseless Wash & Gloss as an ONR alternative for your business if you need a risneless wash. It's cheaper than ONR (sometimes BOGO) and supposedly works just as well. Collinite 845 would be great as a production LSP with no cleaning or corrective ability. It's easy to use, cheap...

    Goo Gone Beware!!!!

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I use mineral spirits to help remove adhesive and double sided tape. Per Mike Phillips it's safer than IPA on paint.
