What else do I "need" to try...:)

Great suggestions and advice - thanks! I do agree with those that cautioned on just buying and buying. Honestly, I am very happy with the current products I am using. The UPGP is amazing. My car just shines with it and I don't anticipate changing that. (It's great that I can just layer it...

Prepping car for first sealant application..

Thanks for the insights! I put two coats of UPGP on this weekend and was very impressed. Can't believe how glossy it is. I will likely try to follow up with some wax in a couple weeks just to see how it changes the overall look.

Prepping car for first sealant application..

Will the Meguiar's QD cause problems with the sealant adhering to the paint? The car right now is looking pretty glossy and feels smooth to the touch. Didn't know if I should do another wash with Dawn to make sure that is off as well. Thanks! Chad

Prepping car for first sealant application..

Okay, so I recently got an order in from AG and I am looking forward to trying out some new products. I applied Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax about 6 weeks ago. Today I washed the my car with DG901, did my first clay bar application and would like to apply UPGP tonight. I used Meguiar's Clay...

    Some favs...

Nice! Just got an order in. Looking forward to trying Duragloss 901 and Ultima PGP this weekend. (That is, if this heat and humidity will ever subside.) It will be my first real detail attempt - (clay bar and sealant). Just got to find the few hours it will take me. Glad to know you were...

Newbie Wax CSI - Where did I go wrong?

Thanks for the formula to remove the wax and the additional info! It looks like I will either order the Ultima Paint Guard Plus or the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant and then follow it up with the Collinite 845 or the Pinnacle Liquid Sovereign (getting a sample of that as well). Obviously, the...

Newbie Wax CSI - Where did I go wrong?

Thanks Bobby! I have learned a great deal from many of your posts on this forum. I do appreciate the time and insights. I have buffed and rebuffed the car a number of times now to no avail. Though I tried to apply the wax thinly - I am sure it was probably still too heavy. Actually, given...

Newbie Wax CSI - Where did I go wrong?

So, yesterday I put a coat of wax on my car. The car is new, has a couple hundred miles on it and doing the baggie test didn't seem like it needed a clay treatment (I will be doing this in the future though and this weekend with my wife's car). I used Megs Ultimate Liquid Wax after washing...

Newb question - Can you wax/seal exterior chrome trim

Thanks all! I have this question as well. The grille is clearly a chrome plastic but I am surprised the mirrors and some of the other accents are as well Truth be told I ended up trying it before I saw the post. I did a small section first and it worked great. The chrome looks amazing all...

Newb question - Can you wax/seal exterior chrome trim

Thanks to both of you for the insights! I will be sure to put in an order this week. Mike - As an OTC option right now for the chrome. Do you think Mother's Chrome Polish will work? Just to clarify the synthetic wax I used on my car today shouldn't damage the chrome if I apply it, correct...

Newb question - Can you wax/seal exterior chrome trim

First, thanks in advance for your time. I can't stop reading the informative threads on this forum! I did a search for chrome and plastic chrome and though I found some good info I didn't find the exact answer I was looking for. Today I put a coat of Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax. Really...

New member, new car - advice on quick detail?

Good morning! First, thanks for this wonderful website and forum. In many ways I am overwhelmed by the information here. I recently purchased a new car and would like to ensure I am taking good care of it. I am coming off of almost a decade of leases so, honestly, I was pretty happy with my...
