What condition was the paint when you took it to the detailer? What was the detailer supposed to do, wash and wax, paint correction? Last question what is your wash procedure?

You can use these Deluxe 6 Inch Blue Microfiber Bonnets to remove wax. I like apply wax with a machine but prefer to remove it by hand.

The stock FMIC is small. I think I would have replaced it even if I was still running the stock tune. The FiST is a hot little car! Every review I've read has been nothing but positive. I'd like to test drive one just to compare it to my car.

Only pic I have of the CG sprayers. They use a tolco sprayer and it looks like Megs does also on the 32 oz Mirror Glaze bottles. I will order the mirror glaze bottles when I need more. The foaming sprayer is the Big Blaster Foamer Trigger.

I have at least 10 CG 32 oz spray bottles and no issues. I like the sprayer better than some of the others I've tried. I recently got a Megs bottle with foaming sprayer and like it.

The tire is part of the problem. They are Goodyear Eagle F1s and have a sidewall rim flange on them to help them protect the wheels. The applicator works fine except I had a hard time getting under the flange at the bottom of the tire with it. I suppose I could run the car on to some 1x6 scraps...

Based on this thread I decided to pick the kit up. Up until now I have been giving the tires a quick scrub and using a spray on dressing. I wanted to make sure the coating could get a good bond and it took at least 6 trips around the car to get them really clean. The TW tire cleaner worked...

Maybe need to try a more aggressive clay?

Thanks for all the replies, pretty much what I was expecting to read, very minimal protection. D114 sounds like a very versatile product. I think I'm going to pick up a gallon after I go thru my current supply of soap.

Not really, waxing or sealing the paint with a machine is one of my favorite detailing steps. I got serious about detailing about 1 1/2 years ago and still look for any excuse to bring out the DA :laughing:.

A lot of rinseless washes have wax or gloss enhancers in them and say they will protect the paint. If you washed your car at least once a week could you get by without waxing or using a sealant? I'm definitely not going to try that but was wondering how much if any protection they actually...
