Help me minimize damage while cleaning heavy grime

Foam guns hook directly to your water hose. Foam cannons are used with a pressure washer. The difference is a foam cannon will create more suds.

Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

I just ordered a set of 1" lower springs and dampers. The roads I drive are pretty good but I hope I don't regret it next winter :). I'm sure the short wheel base has a lot to do with it but I bet it's a lot of fun on a nice twisty road. I would have thought about getting a Tangerine 20 years...

    What equipment/product for a noob?

I like the Griots and would recommend going down to a 5" backing plate and 5.5 pads. Better correction ability and will work better on curved and tight areas. You could also get a 3" backing plate and 4" pads for smaller areas.

Poor results with ONR on front bumper with bugs

I'm a fan of the bug sponge. I haven't tried it yet with a rinseless wash but don't see why it wouldn't work.

Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

I like where you are going with the car! Improving weak points and moderate performance upgrades, pretty similar to what I've done to my car. Are the BOVs noisy on the Fiats? Most of the ones available for the ST are really loud. Short shifter was one of the first things I did and one of my...

    My Waterless/Rinseless wash method

Hey Mike I'm pretty new to rinseless washing and wonder why you use the wash and wax to pre soak and then wash with D114. I would think you would want to use D115 last.

I'm not a fan of rinseless washing, BUT....

I'm courious why do you use D 115 first? Since D 114 is just a cleaning soap wouldn't you use that first and save the wash and wax for the second step?

Porter Cable 7424 XP or Flex VC 3401?

Any of the DA backing plates that work on the PC will work on the Griots. I have the GG 6" and would recommend it. Like a lot of guys here I like using it with a 5" backing plate. The best bang for your buck would be the PC Or Griots. If you don't mind spending the extra money the Flex is a...

Thinking about trading in the CR-Z for a Fiat 500 Abarth, thoughts?

3 wife set up, sounds interesting :D. Yeah, give the ECU a chance to adapt to the new parts. Might be worth check the Fiat forums to see if anyone else has had issues with the tuner.

    New wheels need coating!

I was all set to order some DLUX until I read this. Is this actually a sealant? They call it a coating and looks like it is applied like one. It's there Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armor, gtech wheel coatings, unfortunately out of stock. killrwheels@autogeek, Any idea when it will be in stock?

chem. guys VS wolfgang sealant and swirl remover 3.0?

Keep in mind V38 is not designed to remove swirls, it is a finishing polish. I tried V36 on my cars paint and it got the light swirls out but didn't get everything. It did an ok job but I think there are better compounds/polishes out there. If you want to stick with CG get their V series sampler...

    Exterior trim treatment??

I'd call it an oily liquid, it does have a petroleum smell to it. A couple drops on a foam applicator and rub it on. A little goes a long way.

    Exterior trim treatment??

Another :xyxthumbs: for the Wolfgang. Picked up a bottle based on others recommendations here and really like this product. I applied a coat in early Nov and the trim still looks good. This is the only trim sealant I've tried so I don't have anything to compare it to but it works so well I don't...

I sit on a mechanics creeper. Nice and low but keeps me off the ground.

    Quick Question on Rinseless Wash

I just tried a combo method today. I pre soaked 3 towels in my wash bucket then took them out and put them in a plastic container. I prefer using a mitt but the car gets so dirty so quickly I don't like using it on the really dirty parts so I used a mitt on the upper 2/3 and the towel method on...

    First Nürburgring trip 2015

Haha, I like the picture progression. Starts with "I don't see any damage" to "Wow that car is really messed up. Mike, do you keep track of your lap times? What's your personal best? Driving a lap around The Ring is definitely on my bucket list.
