    Vandals - Spray paint

I saw a video posted here from Chemical guys about using just carnauba wax. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5tJb_S-A6g

Car detailed, ppf applied, and 1000's of scratches

No I meant when the towels are not cleaned properly! Like those "hand wash" car washes, yeah they are handwash but the same towel they are using to wash and dry your car was just used on 5 cars before yours and hasn't been properly cleaned in between cars or rotated properly.

Finally got my GG6, how did I do?

Thanks! I tried to get what I felt was most popular for every type of correction needed. Definitely trying the Amigo first since I heard with a polishing pad and a DA the abrasives actually get activated. Might be all I need. Lol I may have gotten way more than I needed but it's better to have...

Finally got my GG6, how did I do?

Thanks, I tried to get a bunch of different pads to cover my bases and to rotate pads efficiently. Not shown here are a bunch of 3" pads I have too for smaller areas.

Finally got my GG6, how did I do?

As an early anniversary present my girl got me a Griots Garage 6. I followed up by stocking up on everything I think I'll need for my car (2014 Mercedes C300) and possibly doing a few my of buddie's cars. 12 orange, green, and black and 4 red finishing pads. Menz 400, 2500, 4000 and Prima Amigo...

Silly to detail a leased car?

Is your car garaged? I want to convert to Rinseless or Waterless for the winter but I only have an uncovered drive way and I don't cover my car with a car cover.

Car detailed, ppf applied, and 1000's of scratches

MF will do that to a car is when it's been used multiple times across multiple cars and therefore has particles of dirt embedded in it.

    Microfiber washing: Vinegar/baking soda?

It's a technique as old as time from what I understand. The issue that we faced a few years ago was after using the front loader for a couple of weeks and leaving the door open at the end of the laundry day to air out there was still this musty smell and it was especially bad when you peeled...

    Microfiber washing: Vinegar/baking soda?

I have an LG Front Loader as well. My recommendation is to skip the bleach for the Tub Clean option and instead use 1/4 cup baking soda and 1/4 of HOT water combined and place that in the main detergent pocket. Dump a 1:1 cup of vinegar/distilled water straight into the tub before starting...

Now THIS is black! 2014 C300.

Mercedes among other manufacturers do this. The reasoning from what I've read over the years is cost savings by not having to manufacture multiple shades of black handles.

Getting a GG6, need some advice on pads and polish

I'm definitely aware of the cleaning on the fly vs cleaning at the end of a day. I was going to just try to use my Wolfgang MF cleaner at the end of the day but it seems the powdered pad cleaners work better. So should I not bother stripping the car (not with dawn) before using iron x and clay...

Getting a GG6, need some advice on pads and polish

Willie, as the person above mentioned it has been said around these forums that the 5.5" and smaller pads along with their respective backing plates do a much better job with the same amount of product. The 6.5" supposedly are still perfectly fine for waxing and sealing but as far as correction...

Getting a GG6, need some advice on pads and polish

Thanks for the advice, I'll probably go either FG400 or PF2500. Not sure what level of correction I need but I will tape off an area and see what works best. Do you prefer DP over the cleaner included in the wolfgang pad werks kit? And from what I gather these sprays along with a brush allow...

Getting a GG6, need some advice on pads and polish

Mike thanks for the suggestion, I'll check my door tonight to see if I have ceramiclear. I had thought about FG400 in combination with FG4000 or even FG4500 but I didn't want to get something that would be too aggressive so I thought PF2500 would be sufficient. In your experience does FG400 play...

Getting a GG6, need some advice on pads and polish

Okay so I'll need 6 correction and 4 polishing. So that would mean 6 orange and 4 black or possibly 6 white and 4 black? Without doing a test spot I won't know if I'll need orange or white pads for correction but I have read about the MB hard paint. Do you think I should just go with the...

Getting a GG6, need some advice on pads and polish

You think PF4000 on an Orange pad would be better? Do I follow up with PF4000 on a black pad right after or go straight to sealant? The scratches a very minor and can only be seen from certain angles in the sunlight on the hood likely from when I was washing or claying. Just a faint line here...

Getting a GG6, need some advice on pads and polish

After doing a lot of reading I am going to get a GG6 and want to make sure I am getting the right pads and polish for my particular car. I have a 2014 C300 with Palladium silver metallic paint that is in great condition. I clayed it before the winter (but not polished) and sealed it with Black...

Should I clay or polish instead?

Thanks for the pm! I'll be sure to look at some videos, I might try to hone my technique once I get a DA on a family member's more neglected vehicle. Thanks again for all the tips!
