    CarPro Essence and Essence Plus

Pictures don’t ‘look’ much different than after full correction - but in person, CarPro Essence topped with Essence Plus is incredible. Paint looks literally paint-booth-wet. This is a great option between sealants and ceramics.

    CarPro Essence and Essence Plus

Yes! Pics coming later today! I did the trunk as a ‘test panel’ yesterday and was so blown away that I had to post. I’ll shoot pics once I finish the rest of the car. This is the black 73 Trans Am that I’ve posted in the Q/A forum during correction.

    CarPro Essence and Essence Plus

Wow. I’ve done traditional waxes (at several price points) I’ve done synthetic sealants (can’t beat Wolfgang Deep Gloss) and I’ve done consumer ceramics. I have a new car that will be my weekend cruise nite - local show car. My only hesitation to a full ceramic is that when they do show...

    Pulling My Hair Out!!!

FWIW - all the lines I was seeing in this particular paint job corrected with 3M Ultrafina on a super soft Blue Lake Country pad. After she was corrected, I put the white Rupes pad back on with WG Total Swirl Remover and was able to replicate the fine lines I was seeing before. The lines are...

    Pulling My Hair Out!!!

After hitting her with the Blue Lake Country Pad and 3M Ultrafina, I was able to correct those lines I was seeing. Also got my Scangrip Headlight today to confirm my work. Going to hit her with CarPro Essence and Essence Plus and call it good!

    LSP for Weekend Only Cruiser?

Reviving this old thread to see what folks think of CarPro Essence and Essence Plus for something in between a traditional carnauba wax and a full on ceramic coating??

    Favorite Final Wipe Down Product?

Griot’s Garage used to make a product called ‘Pre-Wax Cleanser’ which was marketed for use as a final wipe down before applying wax or sealant. It is now discontinued, and I have been unable to find any NOS on any retailers shelves. I absolutely loved this product. It was clear and had no...

    Pulling My Hair Out!!!

Here is what I ended up with. FWIW - I started with an Orange Light Cutting Lake Country Pad with Wolfgang Uber Compound and my Flex 3401. The final step was the Flex with a Soft Blue Lake Country Pad with 3M Ultrafina.

    Pulling My Hair Out!!!

I am making some progress! And I am expanding my knowledge base as I go. I have gotten pretty good a correction on modern factory applied scratch resistant clear finishes like you see on BMW and MB cars. Very forgiving. Very difficult to damage. Takes a lot more aggressive pad and product...

    Pulling My Hair Out!!!

100% - I’m beginning to see the advantage of investing in one of those dedicated paint inspection lights like a Scangrip.

    Pulling My Hair Out!!!

I will do my best to get representative pics later today. Car is black. On closer inspection, the correction on all metal surfaces - hood, roof, doors, fenders, quarters, trunk - looks as good as I could ever want. These lines that hide depending on the lighting really only appear on the...

    Pulling My Hair Out!!!

I totally get what you are saying - and it makes complete sense. My only thought is that the current ‘final buff’ was completed with the Rupes 15, which is not a forced rotation machine. That with the softest white Rupes pad and Wolfgang’s mildest ‘swirl remover’ product - and that left...

    Pulling My Hair Out!!!

Relatively experienced weekend detailer. Decent paint correction experience. Good tools, good products. Correcting black old-school base/clear on my weekend only garage queen. Used Flex 3401 with Orange Light Cut LC pad and Wolfgang’s Uber Compound followed by Rupes 15mm, White Rupes Pad and...

    Wolfgang v. Blackfire (?)

Cool thing about wax is that it is so easily removed if for whatever reason you don’t dig it. Some of the reviews for the WG suggested the car seemed to attract dust like a magnet - not sure if that was environmental, a ‘Carnauba’ thing, a brand thing, or a made up thing. General observations...

    Wolfgang v. Blackfire (?)

Oh, I know … that’s why I specifically asked: ‘opinions, preferences?’ I have had extremely good luck with both product lines over the years. I bought a tub of the Ivory Sun before ceramics dominated the market and thought it looked absolutely beautiful on the car. It ‘sounds’ like the WG...

    Wolfgang v. Blackfire (?)

Weekend / fair weather only cruise - local show car. Just finished 8+ hrs of 2-stage correction. I’m going old school wax with this car. Teetering between Blackfire Midnight Sun Paste + Blackfire Spray Carnauba and Wolfgang Fuzion Paste + Fuzion Spray. Opinions? Preferences?

Spray Carnauba vs Spray Synthetic Wax

Weekend cruiser / fair weather only / local show car. Just finished 8+ hrs of 2-stage correction on black base/clear finish. Decided to go old school and hit her with Midnight Sun Paste Wax. What is the difference / consensus between the Blackfire Spray Carnauba Wax and the Blackfire Spray...

    LSP for Weekend Only Cruiser?

Before all the whiz-bang sealants and then SiO / Ceramics hit the market, I used to love Blackfire Midnight Sun. (Maybe because it smelled like Hawaiian Tropic and reminded me of the older girls at the pool when I was a little punk.) Once I get my clear film on all the high stress areas, I...

    LSP for Weekend Only Cruiser?

Thank You! Damn - I’m behind the times .. I’d never heard of Kamikaze. I was glued to their site for the last 45 minutes like it was porn. I’m not sure I trust my skill set enough to to lay down their Zipang on a black car…. Is there any benefit to using their ‘overcoat’ spray as a stand...

    LSP for Weekend Only Cruiser?

This is helping a bunch. I guess I sort of live in my own cocoon and was under the impression that ceramics had really taken over the market. I wondered how waxes and sealants were surviving. I love the durability of ceramic on our hard driven 4-season mobile - but the thought of compounding...
