So the Dealer Detailed This New 2015 GTI...

I actually really like the new tweaks. The stripe in the headlight is kind of eh but I do like the sleeker lines of the hood and such. The new nav looks a bit less outdated than the previous RNS-315 as well.

Will DP Prep Polish Remove Previous LSP?

Will DP prep polish remove few week old Collinite 845 by itself? Reason why I ask is that I am preparing to coat my vehicle with DP Coating and the car has been previously corrected and then topped with Collinite 845 along with a few UWW's and UQD's on the side over the course of the month or...

Wolfgang Uber Compound straight to Deep Gloss Paint Sealant?

On my dark blue metallic 2013 VW, Uber compound surprisingly will finish "nearly" lsp ready. Ready enough for a daily driver at least, that gets 30k miles yearly.

Wolfgang Uber Compound straight to Deep Gloss Paint Sealant?

If I use Uber compound and am satisfied with the results, enough to apply my LSP, WDGPS, would I need some sort of wipe down/eraser after the Uber compound? I figure that since they are synergistic, the oils in uber would not interfere with the bonding of DGPS. Then again, I know that most...

Do I need to re-apply everything all over again?

I'd march back there and complain to the service manager that the incompetent shop employees got overspray all over your car. Show him the defects. I absolutely cannot stand when dealerships do things like this. I've heard too many stories of personal vehicles being returned from the...

    Looking for reliable spray bottles

^^ just got my first kwazar and already ordered more. These things are possibly the greatest simple tool I use on a daily basis.

    Window tints

I'd go with the 20% ceramic on the rear 3 and 40 on the front two. Ceramic tint deflects heat and it's noticeable.

I've manage to put swirls in by machine.

Clay may not remove everything. Iron and tar can be embedded in the clearcoat and will not be removed by clay sometimes. A chemical cleaner such as iron x, tar x, or trix will remove these. Are you working your products in well? 6-8 section passes? Firm pressure is key also. Not so hard that...

Polishing - White Balls Flying Everywhere?

If you use a pad washer that I am picturing, isn't the pad still moist? Moisture left over in the pad from washing will "attract" heat toward the center of the pad due to centrifugal force and create one heck of a time polishing. I know this from experience.

    M205 Issues

You said there are scratches that were not there previous to your polishing. Are you sure they are not RIDS that are showing clearly due to the fact that they were hidden amongst swirls and other defects that you've now removed?

Yet another Collinite 845 question thread

Fair enough. I've come to the conclusion that I have always put it on too thin due to hand application and the limited durability I've experienced. But still... The cure time and moisture exposure? If I apply it at, say, 9am and it sits out all day into night, it still cures, right? And...

Yet another Collinite 845 question thread

These make perfect sense. Here in Buffalo, NY, there is a ton of pollen and where my car and I live, pollen gathers in copious amounts. Every morning, there is pollen on my car no matter where I park. Since it's always outdoors and I do not have a garage, I am in a predicament. Now, does the...

Yet another Collinite 845 question thread

Thanks for all the replies. I did shake it until it was a watery consistency. I think that I put it on too thin, since that is apparently possible. I'll try with a DA and put a little more on this next time. I love the effect it has immediately, I just want it to last!

Yet another Collinite 845 question thread

I've clayed within the last month, tar and iron X'd, and polished with full eraser wipedown. That's why it's so puzzling.

Yet another Collinite 845 question thread

I've done a ton of searching and reading about collinite 845 on many different forums as, well, there's so many of them. I've used it a hand full of times on my dark blue Jetta and I always apply it thin. This enough to where, in regular garage lighting, I can barely see if it's on or not...

How to get quicker but not lose quality?

I do both dealer work through a company and full correction details. I've learned that in order to speed up interior jobs, I start at the trunk by vacuuming all and wiping everything but door jambs as they will need to be wiped after the wash. After the entire trunk is done, go up the...

Help Protect my new carbon black metallic denali

One suggestion would be to read here as much as you possibly can. This forum is an endless plethora of information. With the sprinklers hitting your car 3 times a week, can't you just move your car away from that area? If not, there's not a whole lot you can do to protect it from water spots...

    Newbie question

Probably don't have to clay again if it's garaged or washed regularly but that's just a guess. Try the Baggie test and go from there
