Lots of great feedback here!! I see the pleasant atmosphere of this forum is still alive and well, and I think that's fantastic!! Thanks so far for all the posting and the waves back!! I'll mainly be spinning the 3" foam pads on a 3" pneumatic rotary buffer to do headlight lenses. I do from...

    best correction bang for buck

Best bang for my buck using a DA always seems to be M-105 on a soft no cut foam pad topped by a WOWA sealant. On real soft clear, HD Speed and done.

    Hard time removing Uber

never used the product but from general polishing experience, and from reading through the thread it sounds like too much product is a good candidate for the problem you had. I'd assume the car is done and gone now but perhaps you could try using very little (less is more) next time and post...

Just when I thought I was done buying detailing products, Carpro has to come out with everything I ever wanted all in one bottle. I'll be buying this product to test out on the rental van fleet for sure... Thanks a lot Hoytman!!!

    Shelf life of coatings

:iagree: In my past experience with Optimum products in general (coatings and cleaners excluded) i've seen a very short shelf life. I really like the polish and compounds offered by Optimum but have had too many of them go bad on the shelf in less than a year. I've had a few bottles of their...

    Shelf life of coatings

Thanks Bud... It has certainly been a very long absence for me. Been enjoying the the other work that the handicap accessible van world brings, utilizing my simpler detailing skills turning around rental handicap accessible vans and doing lots of mechanical work and bus recon work as well as...

    Shelf life of coatings

I've had a syringe of the first release version of Optimum's Opti-Guard on my shelf in the shop that sat through the heat of summer and the freezing conditions of winter here in PA. I'd guess it was going on 3 years old or so. It was still liquid, and after doing the whole "try to offer a...

    Terrible experience with Quartz UK

This^^^ If the paint wasn't just as in "just" polished before the application of any coating you'll likely have some trace amounts of dirt that has absorbed into the matrix of the paint. Whether you see it or feel it you're applying a coating to a paint system that's not absolutely clean. Try...

Need electrical help. Any Chevrolet service techs here?

Thanks for the replies guys. I must have been blind because there was a 10 gauge auxiliary connector sticking out of the main harness coming in exactly where i'd have preferred it to be. Connected to it with an inline fuse holder and all is good. I'll be posting photos of this conversion before...

Need electrical help. Any Chevrolet service techs here?

Hi all. A little about what I'm working on. I'm currently doing a wheelchair van conversion on a 2014 Chevy Express Explorer Limited SE conversion van. My client brought me the van with 350 miles on it and asked me to gut the entire back of the van and turn it into a wheelchair van. The job is...

    My fishing thread

Hi all you Geeks. As stated in the title, This is my fishing thread where I'll occasionally post photos of photo worthy catches. I've just recently obtained my PA fishing license and mostly fish the mighty Susquehanna river but do venture off into some of it's tributary streams from time to...

    wax "gassing"

It's likely happening in the evening just before dark? The evening dew settling on a finish that's now full of surface tension from polishing and waxing. If this is the case, not sure it can be avoided. I have noticed however, that a quick drive makes it evaporate off.

    Flex rotary or DA

They are both very nice machines. What level of production will you be engaging in? Will you be compounding boats and really bad paint on cars/trucks? Remember the Black Mustang at Detail Kitty's detail weekend? Something like that really requires the use of a rotary and wool pad as an initial...
