These methods definitely take some practice to get good at, but it looks like you're getting the hang of it. Now that you've gotten the wash out of the way test some of that metal polish now.

Did you sand 100% of the factory coating off of the lens during your previous attempt at a remedy? This is key to success.

If this don't work, try that. Change your approach until you figure something out. Perhaps you could try lightly priming the entire face of the pad instead of the 3 pea sized drops. Maybe working in smaller sections etc. Have you tried any other variations in product amounts or techniques yet...
