    Home made paste wax??

Chris, I'm gonna break it down for you. First, I once too considered making my own wax and I canceled that idea. Solvents need to be added into the recipe, and quite frankly I didn't want to waste my money/time on something I didn't know would work. Chemists do these things, so we don't have...

What do you use to Prep your car for Polishing?

I don't want this to turn into a fight and get off topic, but I know exactly where you got the info you quoted above and while it is true why recommend a product that wasn't created for that purpose? This is a direct quote from the true manufacturers page, not a resellers "A hybrid formulation...

What do you use to Prep your car for Polishing?

Citrus Wash and Clear is made not to strip LSP's, however Citrus Wash will. If you're polishing/compounding you don't need to remove wax/sealants as these will remove any protection you have on the car. A paint cleaner, P21S TAW, or CG Citrus Wash should suffice for what you are looking for.

    Claying left scratches

Trying washing your Micro's in vinegar which should restore most of the softness. As far as claying, mostly every time you clay you will need to follow up with a polish. Some say they have successfully clayed without requiring a mild abrasive, but I am definitely not part of that lucky few...

Best wet looking wax for black paint under $5/oz.

Nattys Red gives a very similar look to Fuzion...about 90% there IMO. Won't last as long though, and definitely doesn't bead as nicely. Great, great wax for the price.

Those who have Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo, question...

I use a little under two ounce for 4 gallons or so. I just fill up one of AG's sampler bottles then spill it out into the bucket. Pinnacle soap is a beauty, and smells great. Thank you AG for putting it up since I did request it yesterday :D. Gonna buy some on Monday, along with Max Wax maybe?

How often do u buff your personal car?

If you really are hitting your car with a buffer once or more a week I'd recommend you get a paint thickness gauge. Thats a lot of removal over time, even if you're only using light polishes non cutting pads.

    Flex vs. DA vs. rotary

From what I understand the Flex is forced rotation, so the pad will not stop spinning like a normal DA does when the pad isn't laying flat, too much pressure etc. A DA makes the motions of a human hand, not perfect circles, while an ORbital spins solely in circular motions.

Thank you for the kind words, good luck with the CLK. Thanks Meghan! I feel the same way with my car. Black definitely is another job, but the reward is definitely worth it in the end. I was so surprised, everyone talks about these clears and how hard they are to work with, I really...
