New truck has water spots...plus a few other questions

Have you ever used the Pinnacle Black Onyx tire gel? I'm wondering how it holds up the to the DP tire gel? The DP is less expensive and it would be nice if I could get away with that? The Pinnacle hold up very nice, even through some nasty rain and I really like the finish it leaves. You look...

    DA polisher questions for rookie

My opinion and limited knowledge is that as long as you keep your pads clean, it won't hurt your paint. Additional pads are to help complete the job faster.

removal of old wax, before new wax - required?

You mentioned XMT 360 and 4500, but my truck has no swirls. Do you think KAIO would work well for stripping old wax off?

    DA polisher questions for rookie

I agree with both of you. I'm relatively new to this also and I'm only using my GG 6 every few months on my wife's car and my truck. I'm going to do 3 pads of each color and spend a little extra time cleaning them with a pad brush in between sections. Pads are expensive and I can't justify...

Mr Colorchip Review (or Mr Color Chip)

It's 100% better. I could never get a smooth consistent coat with OEM paint.

    Keeping dashboard/seats from fading?

My opinion is that as long as your keep everything coated with a decent product, you will be fine. Most, if not all, of the products on AG are pretty good and will keep you well protected. Some you might need to apply less frequently than others, but most of the time, it boils down to personal...

    Meg's M205 & 845

It's my brother in law's truck and it's probably only going to get this treatment once a year, so I'm going to try and put 2 or 3 coats of 845 on it. I might even put a quick coat of KSG on top of that to try and get it to last longer.

    Pinnacle Sponge

Since I got this only a couple of months ago while it was on sale, I haven't had the opportunity to really use it. Now that we are starting to get into love bug season, I've started to use it and it is definitely getting softer, but still not like like a regular sponge yet. I've been letting...

    Meg's M205 & 845

Will 845 look good after using M205? I'm going to be detailing a black 2005 Silverado and I have heard that 845 looks best on dark vehicles. I use the the Klasse Twins on my wife and I's silver vehicles and I'm happy with those. The black truck needs some minor correction, so that's why I'm...

Mr Colorchip Review (or Mr Color Chip)

I ordered that about 3-4 months ago, but mine didn't come with a squeegee. The squeegee makes it look much easier. I Didn't try multiple coats, which I am going to go back an do, but the color match was spot on and the chips are much more difficult to see. I bought my truck used this past...

    Review: Detailer’s Pro Trim Detailer

I've been using this for a little while now. I have to admit that it is growing on me, but I think I'm still switching over to the Wolfgang Trim Sealant. The only thing I don't like is if it is slightly windy outside, I have to practically put the can on top of what I'm trying to cover. In...

    Flat Pads vs CCS Pads

Wow, I don't know why I didn't see the replies to this thread back in December. Lots of good information. So, I'm using the Wolfgang twins and I have a GG 6" with LC CCS pads in orange, blue, and white. I have the DA mostly for swirl removal right now. I also use the Klasse twins - only...

1954 Ford F-100 - Extreme Makeover - Process and products used

Re: 1954 Ford F-100 - Extreme Makeover - Modeled by Janna I'm not sure how "sticky" the pads are supposed to be on the backing plates, but I'm using the LC pads on the GG backing plate that came with the polisher and it seems like I literally have to pry off the pad. Do you think the LC...

    Klasse AIO SAved The Day

At the time, I didn't think about it for some reason. I've always liked to keep my vehicles clean, but since I got my latest truck this past October, I found this site and my detailing knowledge has grown exponentially. Anyway, I'm new to claying and at the time I didn't realize the potential...

    Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze?

I know you have posted a lot about Klasse SG and I have looked through about 4 or 5 pages of search results but can't find what I'm looking for. What is your preferred method for applying KAIO?

    Klasse AIO SAved The Day

Sorry it took so long to reply. I'm not sure yet. It's an aluminum cover with a baked on paint. It's got a texture to it, so I'm not going to be concerned with getting a mirror shine on it. I just want something to protect it. I might put KSG on the cover also.
