The best wax for a budget..?

845IW, apply very sparingly, if you cant see your reflection when applying, your reflection should look just slightly hazed or its too thick! Lasts a very long time. I would go with Liquid nattys blue if your car is a dark color though, or nattys red if you prefer the application of a paste wax.

UNDERRATED: Which Products In Your Opinion?

Optimum No rinse QD strength, it works out to be $1 or less for 32 ounces of quick detailer its the best bargain in detailing. You can use it for light cleaning of dashes, leather, paint, glass, and everything in between. It's pretty much a staple in my arsenal.

    Polishings pads stained by M06

Its normal don't worry about it, sometimes the color won't come out of the pad. Not sure if you did this or not... but to prevent it from happening in the future, throw your pad into a bucket of water/soap immediately, as soon as you're done using the pad. If you wait until the end of your...

    PR Wolfgang Finishing Glaze.

:bash: If you read that whole post you'll see that I said THE LUBRICANTS IN THE POLISH ARE STILL THERE--BUT THE ABRASIVES HAVE BROKEN DOWN "go past the point where the abrasives are broken down but the lubricants in the polish are still leaving trails" CONTINUE TO CHOP UP BITS AND PIECES OF...

Then why are you comparing dry buffing to removing clear? I was strictly talking about removing clear. It's OK man, just keep changing the topic ever so slightly.. your post count is rising if that's your goal here. You were wrong. P.S. your post count on an internet forum does not equal real...

Use a cutting pad with only ONR (to simulate lubricant) on some single stage paint and you will still see paint transfer, just because you cant see the clear coming off doesn't mean its not happening.

You can still ruin clear with a pad alone, though. If you use a DAT polish on an orange pad for example and continue to go past the point where the abrasives are broken down but the lubricants in the polish are still leaving trails (to appear like the polish is still there), you could be still...

Dawn power dissolver don't use it!

Still too expensive for me, I get by just fine with normal dish soap, I can't justify the cost to save 5 extra minutes(maybe) during cleanup.

Dawn power dissolver don't use it!

Thanks for sharing :xyxthumbs: I considered picking some of this stuff up for stubborn sealants, but I will continue to soldier on with normal soap and hot water as buffing pads are too expensive to risk ruining, for me at least (a poor college student).

Thats exactly what I'm saying, I don't understand what Z-06 and ASPHALT ROCKET are disagreeing with.

You guys think that M105 is needed in most cases? 105 is a pretty darn strong compound and cuts really fast. I would agree with Phinox that in most cases M105 IS overkill. Your clearcoat is a precious thing, you don't have a whole lot of it, and I wouldn't go around throwing aggressive cutting...

    Bonnet to apply wax

My Nattys red paste was pretty thin and oily (is this normal??) so I put it in the freezer to harden it up, then i took wax paper (anything non-stick, rubber gloves would work well too). I put a small amount on the wax paper from the jar and then spread it !!THINLY AND EVENLY!! over a very...

    Bonnets and Pads

Sounds like a fine idea to me, maybe it would waste less product by preventing it from soaking into the pad a little bit more. It seems like it'd be easy to squeeze the excess sealant out of a bonnet and onto the paint rather than having it soak into the pad to be wasted when you clean your pad...

    Bonnets and Pads

The bonnets are used just for removing wax/sealants although most of us prefer to remove them by hand. You do not cover your pad with a bonnet for polishing or compounding.

    glass cleaners and towels

Now I use Stoners invisible glass in the spray bottle and it works amazingly well, with any kind of towels I've used (even paper). I've never had smuges or streaks once even in smokers cars. I haven't tried either of the ones mentioned here except Windex and diluted 70% IPA, but stoners is so...

Lake Country Flat pads with no beveled edge?
