    Clearcoat Failing?

So I went out and took a look at it again, paul_g is correct. It was a glancing scratch of some sort. I got some Scratch-X to work the scratch. Since I'm going to be using M205 on the whole car before I apply DG105 and C845, is there really a need to apply the Scratch-X still? If so, should I...

    Brushes

I used the Speed Master wheel brush for the first time this past weekend, and I wish I found it sooner. It makes cleaning the wheels soooo easy! I don't know about the metal issue OCD mentioned since I didn't bend the metal. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the metal broke after 2 months...

    Clearcoat Failing?

It was painted maybe 7-8 months ago? I don't remember seeing those marks when I first picked up the car. I imagine if they were below the clear I should have seen them right away (though I did pick up at night). I'll have to pick up some scratch-x. I'm a little confused why that would ever...

    Clearcoat Failing?

Yup, the entire hood was replaced and repainted. My finger doesn't catch on it. What would cause that kind of scratch mark? It actually feels pretty smooth. I'll be polishing and waxing my whole car soon, but if the clear coat is failing, I don't want to waste my effort on the car if they...

    Clearcoat Failing?

Not really a detailing question, but I figured you guys would be able to answer my question. I had my hood repainted because someone decided to make very large dents in my hood. Is this clear coat failure? I know the bottom mark is an area where there's no paint at all because it's only...

ONRWW as a QD and clay lube

Ah, cool thanks! I'll keep that in mind!

    WG 3.0 vs 845

Pretty sure DG601 is only made to be used with other DG products. You probably could try and use it with other similar compounds, but that's a risk.

ONRWW as a QD and clay lube

Yea, I'm hearing a lot of mixed reviews on the nanoskin stuff, but it seems like you just have to liberally apply clay lube. I suppose I'll pick up Menzerna SF4500 next time I wax my car. I'm just a little light on cash right now and can't afford some Menzerna right now.

ONRWW as a QD and clay lube

Hmm. I've got M205 for my fine polish. Still too harsh if I'm using a white pad? I will be using my Nanoskin Fine Mitt for claying before every wax because I don't garage my car, and my parking lot is grass and sand. Plus with Illinois winters, I imagine there will be lots of contaminants. I'll...

ONRWW as a QD and clay lube

I thought polishing before every wax is bad for the clear coat? I was reading that some guys here are only polishing like once every 1 or 2 years?

ONRWW as a QD and clay lube

Awesome. Follow up question. In the future, since I don't think I should be polishing every time I wax/seal, I guess this means I should buy plain ONR to use as a clay lube if I decide to reapply wax 6 months down the road?

    lexol leather condtioner, sticky

Did you shake the Lexol bottle? I've used Lexol cleaner and conditioner on my motorcycle leathers repeatedly without ever feeling sticky residue.

ONRWW as a QD and clay lube

Sorry to revive this, but I have a question about using ONRWW as a clay lube. I wash my car at a pressure washing station and then I have to drive to a garage because I don't have a hose hookup at my apartment. Since I'm driving for about 5 minutes over terrible Illinois roads, I feel like I...

Whats the best microfiber out there?

My MF feel rough with every wash, and I've only washed my MF like 3 times. They also pick up lint and leave it on my car when I'm drying/buffing/etc. I know the water in my apartment is very hard so I'm guessing that is the culprit. The towels are just absorbing the minerals? So hot water is...

Whats the best microfiber out there?

I got those and those are the ones I have problems with.. What's your wash process on them? I just bought Autogeek's 12 pack of MF during the July 4th sale because it was too good to pass up on, but I am pretty sure I'll still prefer TRC's MF for polishing and buffing.

Whats the best microfiber out there?

Yea, I know they're not supposed to lint. I think maybe it's my washer. I live in an apartment complex in a college town so I don't expect the stuff to be very good. I thought that washers would only pick up lint if I put them in the dryer though :/

Whats the best microfiber out there?

I've got rag company microfibers, but they're linting like crazy. Really annoying when I'm trying to wipe stuff down and it leaves a trail of lint. They also seem to be getting rougher with every wash :/ I might need to try out a dedicated MF detergent.

    Is this DLUX still good?

Yep, and one number being the 15th and the other being a 14th suggest it is valid for 365 days.

    Is this DLUX still good?

Uhhh. Expiration date is in 2016? It's 2015.

    3D HD products...

It's so interesting to read this... I looked up reviews of 3D HD Speed and Polish and while they did get nice results, everyone said the durability wasn't that great. Complete opposite opinion with everyone in this thread!
