builthatch, Thanks again.. I know proper prep must be taken before applying wax/sealant such as claying,polishing etc. but as you apply additional coats of OCW other than a thorough wash what prep do you do before OCW?

Thanks for the help. I use OID 4:1 as a drying aid too and carry OOC in the trunk for bird droppings and bugs. After I wash my wheels really well and begin to dry them there is always a little amount of brake dust on my wheel MF towel after I am done drying the wheels...I spray OID on the wet...

I use OID as a drying aid but have been wondering if I could use Opti clean as a drying aid instead just in case I missed a spot and for added lubrication but can you use Opti clean on a wet surface?

What makes you think it doesnt last long gloss and pop deminish after first wash beading about a few car washes and I agree slickness is not very good but you can use OID for slickness. I also agree with touching the finish the least possible to avoid micro scratching the finish which is easier...

I would use a small piece of the Sonus fine clay with plenty of the Sonus Glyde lube that is recommended by Sonus for that clay and that should remove the crud.

If you apply Opti-Coat 2.0 what happens to OCW and OS useless??

Where does this product leave OCW and OS on the shelf collecting dust?

It rained today and this is the second week with one coat of OCW on the finish and the car was washed once last saturday with OPT car wash. The car is beading water like crazy almost like its stuck to the finish even on the doors and lower sides. Isnt the water suppose to sheet rather than bead?

I hear you on the time concern. I have used OCW and it is very easy to wipe off and quick to apply. OCW should be adequate protection especially when applied at that frequency but remember most members are detail enthusiasts which choose to use multiple step products to achieve a better end...

Thanks, My bug cleaning kit includes Optimum Opti Clean and a plush MF towels. I prime the MF towel with Opti Clean first then spray generously the area with the bug and gently wipe making sure not to wipe with a previously used section of the towel. BTW you thread on how to remove bird poop...
