Thank you so much for this review and we are glad you enjoy the results from using Rustopper in your detailing routine. A few quick questions / tips for better results... Did you wash the car soon after it had been driven or did it sit for some time with some flash rust on the rotors already...

    REVIEW: Hyde's Serum Rustopper

First off, thank you so much to the OP for the review, photos and video. Nice work with that Nikon! This is absolutely correct, it's designed to prevent flash rust on the swept area of the rotor face after the wheel & brake assembly are washed to prevent "rust dust" from coating your clean...

    Review & How-To: Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper

We have tested for the backside of the rotor with and without dust shields. I personally have my dust shields removed and don't have an issue with this. If there were any sort of initial dust from the backside of the rotor it shouldn't be any more than a typical dusting from normal driving.

    Giveaway! Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper

Rustopper should provide effective even with a pressure washer as long as it doesn't get a straight blast to the rotor. We use a foamer here on our vehicles after the wheels are cleaned and Rustopper is applied. Only upon rinsing does the wheel really get somewhat wet again but the rotors stay...

    Giveaway! Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper

GREAT question and thank you for posting. It's funny you discussed this, we just detailed an Audi R8 V10 and explained this to the owner. Typically, wheels/tires/brakes are cleaned first then the rest of the car. With Rustopper there is no requirement to change your routine as once it dries...

    Giveaway! Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper

WOW! What a great giveaway! Just to respond to this comment below, the goal of Rustopper is to prevent flash rust from forming on vehicle brake rotors when washing. Using the brakes will take the rust right off but Rustopper prevents the "rust dust" from coating your clean/waxed/sealed...

    Review & How-To: Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper

What's funny is that our drive for creating this product stemmed from spending the extra time to remove the rotor rust with a dryer or by using the brakes then having to wipe down each wheel all over again before presenting a completed car to a customer. By incorporating this quick and...

    Review & How-To: Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper

Ha, trust me I would love to provide samples to everyone, we're planning on building 2-4oz samples in 2014. I really want to prove the fact that the inner side of the rotor is a non-issue and that our product does cover the rotor very effectively.

    Review & How-To: Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper

In our long term, extensive testing the reverse side of the rotor did not prove to be a concern. Between the OE dust shield acting somewhat as a splash guard when rinsing down your wheel and our mister sprayer head providing heavy coverage along the edge of the rotor (minor drip over the...

    Review & How-To: Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper

Nick, thank you for such an extensive review. I'm proud to bring a safe and effective product to market (made in the US) for others who were plagued by the same initial coating of "rust dust". Nothing bothered me more than spending time washing/drying/sealing or waxing wheels only to have them...

    Brake Rotor Rust

To answer your question, the answer is yes, there is a product available that will prevent this flash rust from forming on swept areas of a rotor (rotor face) after washing a vehicle or specifically the wheels and brake assembly. This product will not affect braking safety or diminish braking...

    Rusty car rotor

This discussion seems to fix the rust build-up on un-swept areas on a rotor (single-piece or two-piece). I have used POR-15 on all unswept areas of my two-piece Stoptech ST-40 rotors and it has held up well after initially applying 2 coats but it has started to wear off in it's first season...
