    DA Finishing Wax

Yeah I agree, I did the whole car first (per the bottle instructions) and the stuff wiped off easy (I did this in a garage not sure about direct sunlight). Super easy to work with.

Meguiars Microfiber DA correction system... HERO or ZERO?

I used the new MF/D300 and I have to say it's the easiest thing I've used so far. Low dust, good cut. I need to try M105 and MF for deeper defects, but a good 85% correction with MF/D300 at one pass (2-3 section passes) and I'm happy. That is with a Griots DA. Only one car so far, so I'll...

Concours Auto Salon: Our Latest Works

Too bad you are in Texas, if we get a Ford Flex, I would look into you redoing all the chrome trim black. Looks better that way on most cars, great job!

    First Spring Detail: Mitsubishi Galant

Thanks guys! Yes the leather took 3 hits with APC and lots of scrubbing, then the leather conditioner. He told me 10 years he's never cleaned the seats, so I was surprised they came out as good as they did. Yeah I'd say I got about 85% with only one application for the whole car (2-3 passes...

    First Spring Detail: Mitsubishi Galant

On to the exterior. I used Meguiar's Super Suds wash, Degreaser for the engine, APC 4:1 for tires and wheel wells, P21S for the wheels. I then clayed with Meguairs, Blackfire and some agressive clay (not sure the brand) with Last Touch 1:1 as the lube. This was followed up with D300 and the MF...

    First Spring Detail: Mitsubishi Galant

To sum it up, this car had 10 years of dirt and had never been really deep cleaned. It was a challenge, but helped refine some of my techniques, plus I got to test out the new Meguiar's Microfiber pads (which I really like) and associated polish and finishing wax. It came out better than I...

How to clean this off wheels?

Looks like the aluminum is oxidizing. I'd try some metal polish if not clearcoated, but it's probably coated and is under the clear (try some M105?). Happens to almost every late 90's GM with clearcoated aluminum wheels (probably other brands, I've just seen a lot of GM wheels like that)

A mans reaction vs a womans on a completed job

I've gotten tipped a lot (be it beer, a couple bucks, whatever) probably because I do most jobs cheap as it's a hobby for me and gets my mind off of my daytime job. Most people have no clue how good their car can look with a few (well usually 8-12) hours of intense cleaning. Had the neighbor...

    Concours Auto Salon: Project CaymanS

Nice job, everything ties in great. What are you using for the carbon fiber film? I'm looking at a Ford Flex and hate the wood trim, that film would work perfect to cover it.

    PCXP/Meguiars G110V2 / Griot's/ Owners Chime in

I've got a Griots and the old UDM, both work great (griots sucks on corners, works awesome on flat panels, could be just me). I like having 2 machines in case one dies.

    MF Pad System...Devil's Advocate Thread

Flash, I don't think anyone is going to give you adequate info on anything Meguiar's. You've got a hate on for them and that is fine to have your opinion. I myself will give it a whirl since they aren't that expensive. If it sucks, I go back to what I used before, if it doesn't, well then I...

    MF Pad System...Devil's Advocate Thread

Hey Flash what failures are you talking about? I mostly use Meguiar's products almost exclusively and I've never had an issue with any of them. I'm interested in the new system and it looks like it'll deliver a good finish in a quick amount of time with less cleanup than the M105 Surbuf or...

    Review: Meguiar's DA Microfiber System

Wow, looks like I will be ordering this instead of new foam pads. I have had nothing but good luck with Meguiar's stuff, so it'll be nice to add to the arsenal. One question, anyone try M105 with the cutting pad yet? I see the M205 used on the finishing pad. Just wondering if it'd work...

    Ice Storm Midwest Style....

Ha that's funny, I had enough ice on my driveway to skate no problem (south of Indy), rotating the truck and car in the garage to keep ice to a minimum. Had to run the truck for about 20 mins to get the ice melted enough to scrape off. Crazy, and more is on the way. Be safe!

    Lighting in Garage

That looks like something I could use. It would work great in Minivans (only thing I really need a lot of light for). I'll take a look thanks.

    Lighting in Garage

I have an multiple LED version of that, maybe I need to look at some newer ones and dedicate them to detailing (mine are grimy from using them when I work on the car) as mine is bright, but doesn't last very long when on the 'high setting'.

    Lighting in Garage

I do have a headlamp, just got it for doing insulation in the attic. Not super bright but I guess would work. I like halogens, but they get so damn hot, maybe I'll look at some new ones, mine are kind of old and not really steady. Best would be to mount some flourescents on the wall that...

    Lighting in Garage

I have a question about lighting the interior of vehicles while working on them in a garage. My garage has 4 double bulb flourescent lights overhead. Unless the car has a sunroof I can't seem to get enough light inside the car to do the interior in the evening hours. I've tried trouble lights...
