You can if you want, usually I vac before, sometime the shop vac pulls out a little more dampness, but with this method they really aren't that wet. If it's really soiled, the shop vac will help pick up any dislodged dirt. So up to you and the seat condition.

Had the same problem with my Pontiac Vibe's seats. Trick I found was to hit it with some APC (if there are dirt stains) then take a cloth soaked in water and rung out (so it's wet, but not dripping), then wipe down the area. Rinse the cloth frequently. That way you end up with an even seat...

I use Megs Last Touch diluted 1:1 with water. Works great and is also cheap.

I agree as I've bought the samples from the 'other site' and have ended up buying full gallon sizes afterwards since I liked them so much (super degreaser, APC+ and Last Touch).

IMHO nothing beats the pressure washer for getting all the polish dust out of the crevices, cracks. Saves time when I'm doing an all day detail as water pressure at my house isn't that great. For normal washes, I don't bother as my garage sucks and only has one outlet, so it's a pain to setup...
