    Newbie-Recommend me a Carpro product

I'm sure others will have suggestions, but I guess the first question would be - does it have to be Carpro?

    Goo Gone In Engine Bay?

The warning on the back of Goo Gone says to keep away from heat, sparks and flames. With the heat of an engine compartment, I wouldn't use it.

    Pressure Washer...Which One

I have the Karcher K5.740. The fittings are plastic, but so far haven't had any problems with it. It does have a wheel to roll up the hose, which is handy but you still have to guide it, otherwise it bunches up on one side. Had the Karcher since last summer and no major complaints - just used...

    Door Guard

I considered this but wasn't sure how well the suction cups would work so I ended up getting Door Shox. I put them on every time theres a possibility of someone parking next to me. They're pricey, though.

Opti-Coat wheels myself or get pro to do it?

Those wheels look amazing. I suppose doing both OC + replacing factory pads would be the best solution. I dont know what a detailer would charge, but I suppose it would be more cost effective to just buy the stuff I need and do it myself. And have enough OC to do the whole car.

Opti-Coat wheels myself or get pro to do it?

Correct. I picked up a 2013 BMW X5 3 weeks ago. It comes with run flat tires, so there is no spare and no tools since there is no spare to swap out. I could get the tools but it would only be for removing the wheels for detailing.

Opti-Coat wheels myself or get pro to do it?

Hi guys, I have a BMW and the brake dust is driving me crazy. I find myself constantly cleaning the wheels - part due to the brake dust and part OCD on my part :) I've been wanting to the take my wheels off and do a thorough cleaning and Opti-Coat it. But, I don't have the tools I need to do...

My washing process - why do I get water spots?

I do a final rinse with distilled water. I use about 3 gallons to do an SUV - then dry with a master blaster.

Do you let your dealer wash the car either upon delivery or service?

I picked up a new car from the dealer recently and gave strict instructions not to wash it. I told him to just fill up the gas tank and give me the keys and if its still wrapped in plastic, even better. He was like 'you don't want us to prep it at all?' haha

    Parking lot Wars

I live in nyc and most of the time, its street parallel parking. For that, I use a rubber bumper protector for the rear. Its only for parking and don't drive with it, although many do. For the front, I have a thick front bumper protector. If I park in a lot, i use magnetic door protectors...

    Applying Opti-Coat on wheels

Thanks guys. I've been cleaning the wheels every weekend to get rid of brake dust so it looks like I'll be removing the wheels to apply OC and plan on setting aside some foam applicators that I normally use for the body. Time to shop for some more tools

    Applying Opti-Coat on wheels

Does everyone take the wheels off or do you apply OC with the wheels still mounted? I want to do it to my car (also a BMW), but don't have jack stands, torque wrench or floor jack besides the cheap one that comes with the car. Of course, I can always get them but wanted to see what everyone...

New car with fingerprints and splatter on plastic trim

I just picked up a 2013 BMW X5 on Sat and while the car looked pretty good the plastic trim is a another story. I asked the the dealer not to wax it and leave any plastic on it - I will take care of it myself. But I didn't mention the tires (my mistake), so they put some dressing on it. The...
