Polish the lip on my BBS LM's - with powerball?

Sandblasting would remove the coating all right, but then it would probably leave your rims looking like satin instead of shiny once the sand started hitting the aluminum. I would try and see about very lightly sanding any scratches and then using paint polish to smooth everything out.

    Pinnicles Gel Wheel Cleaner????????

I've used DP a bunch and it really cuts through the grime well. For the cost and volume of product you get, I'd say you can't go wrong there.

    Prep before polish/wax job

Just wash and clay before you polish. Between the clay and the polish, you will have removed all the Liquid Glass.

    XMT 360 + XMT Glaze?

It just seems like the wax version of the sealant that XMT 360 uses, so it might just be redundant. They sell the glaze for use with the non-360 XMT line as a finishing step, so you may just want to use it for that.

    Question about the XMT line...

If you use XMT 3, I would follow it up with XMT 1 and then your choice of wax. As others said, in the future you can use XMT 360 to maintain your paint. XMT 360 also sounds like it would be good for your GTO. I haven't experienced micromarring with XMT 3 personally. But you don't need to go...

    S100 vs. P21S

Well, that makes it easy to just stick with my S100 and experiment with layering it on itself or other products to see what the restuls are! I'll have to try the EX-P and see how it works. Thanks! I wonder why they make them both...

What's the rating on PRODUCTION's products?

Yeah, I'm fairly sure that this thread is minutes away from being locked down.

Yeah, but if you get good at it you can start refilling your wallet in short order with a little sweat and some Microfiber towels :)

    Help

Well, hate to tell you but the first time you cut through that 2 years of dirt and grime, you'll probably spend 6-8 hours and some elbow grease. But after that, maintaining the shine will be a breeze! The procedure you listed is very good. Swirl removing, cleaning and polishing will all...

    S100 vs. P21S

After using S100 for the first time, and being pleased with its ease of use and overall appearance, I am curious about P21S. Costing roughly twice as much as S100, I wonder how it compares. I've read reviews of S100 that rate it very, very highly (some even say that it comes within a hair of...

    Hints and Kinks

When cleaning glass, use a vertical motion for the exterior, and a horizontal motion for the interior. If you have any streaking, you won't have to guess which side of the windshield it's on I like this one!

    Engine Detailing Information

You're going to have a pretty rough time getting the results that you want without a hose. Just cover up the areas that people said and you will be fine. It's the only way to get all the grime out of the engine bay.

    Deatiled Mazda 6

I've found that darker, metallic paints that aren't too dark (black or dark blue) or too light (Silver) have a tough time generating a super wet shine to them. I just did a bronze-ish Civic and did a light blue metallic Celica a few weeks ago and while both of them looked very clean and crisp...

Car buff that needs some help.

I haven't used the Meguiars products but I'm sure they will work fine, and you seem to have multiple grades of polish to work from buffing out the big chunks to refining the paint. Just take your time and have fun with it! You may also want to pick up some halogens to see the progress, if you...

You know what else streaks in Florida? My freaking sweat, all over my car :p I swear this state is just a really big sauna!

    Tire cleaner - needed?

I use DP Gel Wheel Cleaner as well on both the tires and the wheels, and just scrub the tires with a brush too. Seems to get them clean.

    Starting to detail for neighbors?

I've used the orange pads on 4 cars now and they are still holding up great. One is a little more worn than the others, but it should be good for another half-dozen cars, I imagine. The pads don't get super worn because I have 4 to switch between, so your mileage may vary a bit from mine. The...

    DP Wheel Glaze-It's easy

I went out and looked at the rims of my 2000 Vette today. It had DP Wheel Glaze applied about 2-3 weeks ago now. It had rained (finally) in Florida earlier this week and that was the first time the car had been out since I treated the wheels in the rain. There were some dark spots and brake dust...

another mini surf city product review

I used it today when I got sick of the Stoners streaking on me in the sun. It's also affordable, which is nice.

    What do you think

Definitely a good pic. The contrast of the silver, blue sky, and green trees is great, and they all seem to be in focus too. What kind of camera are you using?
