Need recommendation for towels for first ceramic coating

Just coated my car over the weekend. I’ve used trc pearl, edgeless 300 and edgeless 365. Here is what I think works best when applying csl + evo since that’s the costing I went with. With csl, you can use edgeless 300. Two towels one for leveling and one for buffing excess product off. 2-3...

24 Hours Between EXO v4 Coats?

Decided to bring this thread back and wanted to say I removed a 6-7month old CSL coating with a yellow pad + menzerna 3800. Coating is not hard to remove at all as I only did one pass and it came right off. Going to reapply a new coating of CSL and add EXO v4 this time.

    Car Shampoo for ceramic coating?

Also to my knowledge, I know reset can be used for both foam cannon and bucket shampoo. What are your thoughts on having Reset as a dedicated bucket wash and having something like Adams Mega foam as a dedicated foam cannon soap? I'm personally a sucker for thick shaving cream foam:)

Having trouble with hard black paint

That sounds pretty cool but times are different now. Hopefully things start going back to "normal" soon! I've always thought Audis had hard paint so didn't think too much about towel marring. Now thinking back when I first corrected the car, Ultimate compound really did the job but it was just...

    Car Shampoo for ceramic coating?

Im looking to change up my wash products so looking for products. Im recoating my car and noticed my CSL being foggy when removing it during a 50/50 shot. I’m thinking it could be my wash setup so I’m investing in some new products atm.

    Car Shampoo for ceramic coating?

I decided to purchase the reset. I’ll likely do a test to see if it’ll actually have any noticable performance difference.

    Car Shampoo for ceramic coating?

Also has anyone used Gyeon bath? I know Gyeon and CarPro have very similar products like Prep and Eraser. Does bath perform like reset?

Do you use reset in the bucket as well? Or seperate soaps for foam and bucket

Having trouble with hard black paint

Appreciate the generosity! I pulled the trigger on some edgeless 300 in hopes it can work with coat leveling and polish removal. Now I’m waiting for a few more things to come in before starting the project. I’ll defeinitely give you a PM if I ever feel like I want to check out some MF towels!

    Car Shampoo for ceramic coating?

Can someone explain why Reset is "better" than something like CG Honey Dew Snow Foam or Adams car shampoo? To my knowledge, the most important thing to look for in coat friendly soap is if its pH neutral so it doesn't damage the coating. Anything else won't hurt or benefit the coating. In this...

Having trouble with hard black paint

Read somewhere that panel wipe might be too harsh on repainted surfaces. Since my bumper was recently repainted, I’ll just play it safe with Eraser.

Having trouble with hard black paint

Would the windex solution you mentioned earlier be the preferred method as a last wipe down for oils?

Having trouble with hard black paint

I heard it’s strong stuff and I was planning to spray it onto a Mf towel to perform the wipe off as opposed to on the panel with Gyeon prep. I’ll keep that in mind. Would you suggest me going with Gyeon prep again or maybe Carpro eraser? I know a lot of detailers use eraser and prep as an ipa...

Having trouble with hard black paint

I’ve always thought a mf towel is a mf towel. How wrong was I…. As much as I like to correct the whole car now, I still want to wait another 2 weeks for that 30 day mark on my repainted bumper. Heard it should be fine but just playing it safe. So I’ll just have to drive around with patches of...

Having trouble with hard black paint

They are not the edgeles. They are just general multipurpose mf towels 300gsm 80/20 marketed by TRC. I’ll likely buy some more edgeless 365 for leveling and general use. I’m also thinking about switching to Gtechniq panel wipe since I’m running low on Gyeon prep. Also heard panel wipe will do...

Having trouble with hard black paint

I have multipurpose 300 gsm, pearl, and edgeless 365 all from rag company. To my knowledge, the pearl green towels are advertised for leveling/buffing ceramic coating but not sure if I can rely on them since they scratch the paint post polish.

Having trouble with hard black paint

Update: Got the edgeless towels and wow these thing make wipe off so much easier. I did a side by side comparison to the pearl mf towels and there was deff more effort needed with those. I also did a side by side with similar wipe off strength and motion and saw the marring from the pearl towels...

Having trouble with hard black paint

Reason why im avoiding the CarPro essence is because it appears to contain SiO2 in it and my rear bumper was painted not too long ago. Not sure if it'll cause any off gas issues. Thats why I'm sticking with shop friendly products. Gtechniq also states that their products won't interfere with...

Having trouble with hard black paint

Got it. I’ll give the edgeless microfiber a shot first. I know Guz mentioned that my car potentially have soft paint. With what I’m dealing with, is it safe to conclude that my Audi does indeed have soft paint?

Having trouble with hard black paint

Is this to replace Gyeon prep? Will the winded + 50% be sufficient for ceramic coating after?
